Question about FUJIFILM Cameras

Hi, my fujifilm z33 wp is showing card protected. I have used 3 new cards all with the slider in the correct position and still its showing card protected does anyone know what the problem is please?

I dont know what size cards you have tried but try another card lower than 2 gig to see if its the size thats doing it ? some camera's are not up to date with reading the new cards that come out ( it seems like ) every week

I had the same problem with a Fufifilm camera. When I looked closely at the memory card I noticed a little white sliding button on the left hand side. When it is in the down position the card is locked or protected. Just slide the button up and put it back in your camera and it should work.

just take out the memory card . there will be a small button or a panel like thing on one of its side. just move that to the other side i.e opposite to the current position of the button. re-insert the memory card and check it out...

You may need to format the card in the camera. This will completely erase it so download the pictures first. Use a card reader if necessary.

The SD card has on a side a little switch. Turn in to the other position and it should work fine.

Hi all! In using the FUJIFILM FinePix AV200 i m encountering a big problem being I cant take any photos because it appears something is wrong with the protection of the card.

I assume that you have a memory card installed in your camera. Probably, the slider in the memory card is in the lock position. Remove the card and Slide it to unlock position, and reinsert it.

When i turn on my fujifilm camera i get mesage 'protected card' and any button does not work. When i take out the card camera works. How can i fix this

This is usually caused by the SD card, and is nothing to do with the camera. On the SD card there is a small slider - which allows you to lock the card (to prevent accidental erasure).

If you put in on the table with contacts upwards, corner cut top left, then the slider is on the right hand edge, about 1/3 the way down. If it is slid to the top position (nearest the contacts) the card is unlocked. If it is slid down (away from the contacts) the card is locked.

If it is a damaged / "cheap" card, sometimes the slider falls out, in which case the card is locked. You can still read from it, but not write to it until fixed or replaced.

First check is to turn the camera off, remove the card, move the slider to locked, then back to unlocked. Replace in the camera and turn on.

Have you tried the camera with another SD card, to see if the problem persists? (A reputable photo store will often lend you a card for the 20 seconds it takes to do this test)

The card itself has an unlock switch. Pull the card and move the slider to its other position.

On my Technika SH-340T when I switch it on ''protected card'' comes up on the screen. What can I do about this?

This is a general problem, not specific to your camera.

Inside your camera, there's a memory card. In your case an SD card. This card has a slider that can be toggled between two positions. Your card's slider is in the "protected" position, and means you can't write to the card. This position is used when you want to be sure you don't overwrite important files (in your case pictures).

The sliders on these cards sometimes change positions when you jam them into a card reader - which might be what happened here?

Simply take the card out, find the slider, and slide it over to the other position. Insert it into the camera, taking care to not slide it into the protected position again, and you should be all set to take pictures!
