My sansa mp3 player froze at the beginning of a song. I had just finished listening to a song and decided to change to my on the go playlist. I chose the same song because it was on the top of the list and the song froze my entire mp3 player. I tried turning it off, changing songs, even turning up the volume; but it doesn't respond to anything. Can someone help me get this thing to work again?
IF the other solution doesnt work, you can try putting it into Recovery Mode, just to unfreeze it.
- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds) - Slide the hold switch into "hold" position. - Press and hold the "record" button for a few seconds.
If you see Welcome to Recovery Mode, let go of the Record button and hold the power button to shut it off. Then restart it.
According to the manufacturer there is no way to hard reset the unit. They will advise you to simply reformat it, but that will delete all of the songs and content that is presently on it, and if you have licensed third party apps will require you to hand cancel the licenses.
There are two options that you can try:
1. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds to do a soft reset.
2. Remove the battery and wait 5 minutes before reinstalling it.
These may solve the problem, so I would try them first before reformatting the unit.

Not to worry, your sansa just hung up , Please look out for the small hole on the sansa for resetting the device, use a small office pin to depress and hold on. The ipod will be reset now and you must be able to continue playing. Connect you sansa to a PC and check out the loaded files. scan them with an antivirus, delete if any corrupt ones. I hope this clear up the issue. Good day
