Remove the paper tray so you can get at the paper. The paper tray will come out usually by gently lifting and pulling.it out. Try to grab the paper in the middle not by a corner so you don't rip it. Then gently pull it back out.

The printer will show a jam until you insert the tray again. If that was the only piece of paper it will be ready to print fairly quickly as the printer restarts itself.

Paper jams can be caused by quite a few things such as humidity after it rains making the paper stick together. Or the paper is too slippery and the printer can't grip it enough to pull it through. One of the basic things you can do to cut down on this happening is when you replace the paper in the feed tray you should "fan" it. All that means is that you hold one end of the paper and wave it like a fan. The other end of the paper stack will fan open between the sheets and helps to prevent them sticking.

Your printer owners manual should have a section on clearing jams and how to fan paper to prevent them. If you don;t have it just go to www.hp.com and go to support and look for your printer. Or search for Officejet Pro L7680 Manual You should be able to download a pdf version of the manual. It tells you how to do things like remove the tray load paper, change ink cartridges and so on. Not exactly an exciting thing to read but it does save you a few headaches.

SOURCE: Paper jam.

first try unplugging the printer, then take the paper tray out, the toner cartridge out, open the back cover and inside the back cover near the power cord is a blue lever. Try pushing this down as you see if you can remove the jammed paper.

SOURCE: Paper feed problem from both tray 1 & 2

There is a long set of sensor flags on the bottom of the paper input unit that can get stuck and not move freely. This will cause jams from both trays. Try unplugging the printer, removing the toner cartridges and tray 2. Turn the printer on its back or side. You will see a long, black plastic bar with flags on it that runs the length of the paper input unit. make sure it moves freely.

Have a paper jam in my pixma ip4500 and cant see the paper anywher to take it out?

Paper jam I suppose is the commonest of all printer problems as it can occur due to strayed, stuck bits of papers in pathway of paper tray, outlet, roller etc. I would recommend cleaning the paper inlet, outlet, and other possible areas to avoid a paper jam situation.

Follow the given steps to clear paper jam
>Clear any loose paper from the paper tray. This will help you locate the jam. You will find it either in front, near the paper tray, or in the rear.

->To clear a paper jam near the paper tray, grip the paper and pull it firmly but gently from the printer. If you find a stack of papers jammed, grab from the middle of the stack and pull.

->For a rear jam, remove the back of the printer. When you find a free edge on the paper, grip it firmly and pull it out.

->Replace the back cover. Press the "Resume" button or turn off the printer, and then turn it back on. Your settings should reset.

->Try printing another document

Paper jam printer 3524

Clear the jammed paper as follows.

If the jammed paper is removed completely by using the information in the following steps, you can install the paper tray first, and then close the front cover and the printer will resume printing automatically.

If the printer does not start printing automatically, press the Go button. If the printer still does not start printing, please check that all the remaining jammed paper has been removed from the printer. Then try printing again.

Pull the paper tray completely out of the printer.

Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer.

Press the cover release button and then open the front cover.

Pull out the drum unit assembly. Pull the jammed paper up and out of the printer. If you cannot remove the drum unit assembly easily at this time, do not use extra force. Instead, pull the edge of the jammed paper from the paper tray. If the jammed paper can not be pulled out easily, turn the jam dial towards you as you gently pull the paper out.

Open the face-up output tray. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit. If the paper jam can be cleared, go to Step 7.

Open the jam clear cover. Pull the jammed paper out of the fuser unit.

Close the jam clear cover. Close the face-up output tray. If the paper jam still cannot be cleared, for HL-5130 and HL-5140 users go to Step 10, and for all other users go to the next step.

Pull the Duplex Tray completly out of the printer.

Pull the jammed paper out of the printer or the Duplex tray. Put the Duplex tray back into the printer.

Push the lock lever down and take the toner cartridge out of the drum unit assembly. Take out the jammed paper if there is any inside the drum unit.
Put the toner cartridge into the drum unit until you hear it lock into place. If you put it in properly, the lock lever will lift automatically.

Put the drum unit assembly back in the printer.

Put the paper tray in the printer.

Close the front cover.

I cant fix the paper jam problem. every time i take the paper jam out it jams again

I have had paper jams in five different places on this machine. It has jammed at the pickup point from the tray, in which case you have to remove the paper tray and pull the jammed paper out. It has jammed at the manual paper feed tray, in which case you just have to pull the jammed paper out of the feed rollers. It has jammed at the toner/drum, in which case you have to open the front cover and pull the toner cartridge out to remove the jam. It has jammed in the back of the machine where the paper feeds through to the output tray, in which case you have to open the small back panel and remove the paper. And it has jammed in the output rollers, in which case you have to reach inside the output tray and remove the paper. Then once the jam is cleared there are times when the machine has to be unplugged for up to 8 hours to reset before it will function properly.

When trying to print the printer pulls in more than 1 sheet of paper causing a jam in e.ta

just folowe the steps

1. 1
Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge to fade away before putting your hands or metal tools inside the chassis.
2. Step 2
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The three hot spots for a jam are the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and the print carriage, or between the print carriage and the output tray.
3. Step 3
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet got stuck while it was still in the front area of the printer. If the sheet jammed here, you should be able to see most of the paper.
4. Step 4
Pull on the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a chunk of it deeper in the machine.
5. Step 5
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed tray area and the print carriage of the all-in-one printer. Carefully remove the jammed paper from the machine.
6. Step 6
Use the carriage access door to reach a jam further inside the all-in-one printer. You may need to move the print carriage out of your way to clear the jam.
7. Step 7
Return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

It keeps saying paper jam why? it is not jammed/

Paper jams are reported under two conditions.

1) Paper reaches a sensor and never leaves it.

2) Paper does not reach the sensor in the time allotted.

A simple test is to put a mark on the next page that should be pulled from the paper tray. If the paper is pulled from the tray, you will find it inside the printer. If the paper fails to feed, it will be sitting in the tray where you marked it.
