HDMI Problem Well, I've tried asking everywhere... might as well try here. I got the xbox360, worked fine with HDMI on my Philips TV. One day I connent the console to a PC monitor via DVI Adapter. Shows only video, no sound - as expected. I connect the console back to my TV set... HDMI was no more. My cable is fine, my tv is fine, I ultimately bought an RGB cable, which is no HDMI but the next best thing, and that's that. Remember this: the hdmi cable is all new and works with other xboxs, so does my TV. Is there a way to rerstore the f*&^%$#! thing? - I never ever messed around with TV or Xbox settings. Just plugged it in and played on hdmi.

You should know that the hdmi cable I plugged into the pc monitor did not have sound cables. I tried the solution about the console still set to the pc monitor, but no luck.

DVI connection is for video only, the HDMI cable should have red and white cables which when using an adaptor can connect to your PCs sound card at the back.

Your 360 is still set up to work on the monitor in which case change the settings back to (720 or 1080 for LCD TVs) while you are connected to the PC monitor.

The picture will not look right on the PC monitor once its changed to 720 or 1080 but should now work fine when connected to you LCD TV.

Ok i think you need to reset the video settings here is a step by step procedure which you can follow

To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps:

  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn off the console.
  3. Turn on the console.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn on the console by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller. Wait for the guide light to indicate that the controller has linked to the console.

Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is indicated by the upper-left quadrant light on the console.
  4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button as you pull the right trigger.

Note This action causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings. The console then automatically restarts.

I can't connect my xbox360 to my sony pfm-42b2 tv

Keep in mind that your Sony IS NOT A TV, but a monitor instead. There is an actual XBOX360 VGA adapter that's available at most gaming retailers. It was initially designed for those who wanted to use their PC monitors for there console gaming. HDMI is NOT compatible with a VGA input as HDMI is a digital signal type and VGA is an analog type connection. You must also remember to have the XBOX set to a NON-progressive resolution (480i) if trying to hook it up using the standard XBOX video cables.

Connecting Ps3 with philips tv (full hd) when i got hd cable in, and click to switch so the ps3 uses hd to show things and i than switch over to the channel i plugin the hdmi cabel it gives blac kscreen

If it's the first time using your PS3, use the composite cables that came with it. Turn on the PS3 go to video settings and switch the input to HDMI. After you've switched to HDMI, turn the PS3 off and connect your HDMI cable, go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If this isn't the first time you've used HDMI for your PS3, make sure your T.V. is on the correct input. If the T.V. is on the correct input, try switching the HDMI cable to a different input. If that doesn't work try using a different HDMI cable, testing different HDMI connections if you're still getting the black screen. If none of those work then it's probably a problem with the PS3, but just to make sure try plugging something else with HDMI to see if that works. If another HDMI device works, then it's your PS3, if it doesn't then it could be a problem with your HDMI connections on the T.V.

How do i connect a xbox 360 to a philips hts 3555 and hd tv?

Connect audio out cables (L and R) from HDTV to far left audio input at back of hts 3555. Then connect HDMI output from XBOX360 to HDMI input slot on TV. Setup XBOX 360 for audio through HDMI turn TV off and then on and all should be good. It worked for me.

HDMI XBOX360 Elite -"No Signal"

The connection order can be a key issue as to whether or not the HDMI signals will pass through the system. For best results the receiver should be turned on first, then the source device(s) and then the display. The reason for this has to do with getting the equipment to handshake properly for the HDCP protocol.

If HDMI video will not pass through your receiver, you may with to just connect the xbox using the component cables. Since component will pass through 720p and your TV is 1080i you should expect the same qualtiy and a more crisp picture.

My Samsung LN40A530 only produces a blank blue screen whenever I try to use an HDMI input source. Audio seem to come through fine but not the video. Other, non-HDMI video inputs work fine. I've tried...

We are having the same problem. We have 2 DVD players with up-converter to 1080i and 1080p. Both DVD work fine (one Sony and one Samsung) with our Samsung LN-T4053H upstairs, never intermittent.

LN40A530 downstairs is having "Searching for Signal" problem. Took it back to Sears got a new one, problem followed. Something is wrong with this LN40A530. Perhaps firmware update is needed.
