As400 LAN printer. queue has status of wrt but does nothing. can ping printer. have end/start writer, turned printer off/on, varied off/on. still will not print.

Here is a reset procedure for when you can ping but not print.

On the printer properties on the computer there will be a paused option (Normally marked as "Pause Printing") in the printer drop down menu on the Printer Queue screen. Click this to remove the tick next to it and it should start printing again.

Try to unplug the printer from the power source and wait 20 seconds and plug back in. How old is the printer?

It could be due to the print spooler service on your computer. Please follow the steps below on how to clear the print queue and enable the print spooler service.

1. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET STOP SPOOLER (this will stop the print spooler service)
2. Browse to your windows\system32\spool\PRINTERS\ folder. You should see files there ending in .SPL and .SHD created around the time you tried to print - delete these files.
3. Browse to Start -> Run... and type in NET START SPOOLER (this will restart the print spooler service)

Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Unplug the printer cable... then unplug the printer from power.

While the printer is off remove that job from the queue.

You can always restart the computer, that will "unstick" a print job that gets stuck deleting.

Have you check the firmware issue?

I can get the P5010 printing on your AS400... But, there are to many things to check without knowing a little more about your environment.

If you can't ping the PTX P5010 from the AS400 or a PC, then you have a printer configuration problem.
Take the printer offline and hit the Print Config button. and then the enter on OPs Panel. Then post top or first paragraph of the config. so I can look at...
