What is wrong with my traxxas slash 4x4 vxl-3 velineon esc? when I press the power button the light blinks only green very rapidly and when I release the button the esc does not stay on

I had it set on nimh setting an my dog was chasing the truck an when I turnd she didnt an ran over the truck...flipping it an unplugging the battery at the same time an when I tried to turn it back on after plugging the battery back up is whwn it started doing this so im not sure what she did to it but she deff did something

there may be a piece of debris got in there. I had many issues with my traxxas car, and sold it off to someone else. losi makes much better

Direction is reversed on vxl
It actually doesn't matter which wires you switch, you just need to switch 2 of them. Blue <--> yellow, blue<--> white, yellow <--> white; any one of those combinations should do the trick.

Vxl 3s turns on when i plug in battery, green light comes on, than red, than blinks through the racing and training modes, wont respond with button push
It sounds like it might just be a case of the button being stuck. The ESC shouldn't turn on just from you plugging in the battery, you're supposed to have to press the button once the battery's connected to power up the ESC.

Traxxas bandit vxl doesn't work i left my traxxas bandit vxl for 1 day and came back and drove and when i got outside and drove pass my sidewalk to go on the road the esc started flashing red slow
Are you running a lipo or nmhi? You could have the lipo cut off turned on and the battery is too low. Or it could have a bad motor. Try hooking up another motor an see what happens. Or try to turn off lipo mode.

The LED on the XL-5 is solid red after programming. The model operates normally, but the light is supposed to be green. What is wrong?
Press the ez-set button on the esc (the one with the heatsink) for ten seconds until it changes color and gives a beeptone,green is low voltage detection on for use with lipo batteries,if they are fully discharged they are dead,the detection system cuts power beyond 3v per cell so that the lipo isnt dameged

How can you adjust a traxxas rustler for a novice driver so it doesn't go so fast?
When turning on, press and hold the button on the ESC until it flashes 1, 2, 3 times then let go of the button. You are now in novice mode.

Vxl-3s velineon problem with speed control
This problem is very common with the traxxas vxl 3-s speed control. If you were previously running it in 70 degrees or above without a cooling fan, hobbytown is correct. If you have a fan, or it is cool outside, try your best to return the speed control for a new one.
