Mic has quit working on Quickcam Pro 5000

Quickcam Pro 5000 had been working fine, but now the microphone is not working. Have turned computer on and off, and checked all settings and plug. The microphone button shows that the mic is muted, but the button is not highlighted to turn off the mute (Nothing when mouse goes over button) the video button is working and can be turned off and on.

Did you by chance mute it in the computers sound manager or a specific program (msn, yahoo)? These settings tend to over-ride the Logitech console settings.

Microphone

The 5000is a newer version of the 4000. Both ones have a manual focus ring on the front of the camera. Turn the ring clockwise / counter-clockwise to focus it. Good luck!

As far as the mic, I would need more info as to what service / website you're trying to use it on.

I have installed QuickCam Pro 5000.

Your PC has a Sigmatel sound card (or a sound chipset designed by Sigmatel). You will want to choose the Logitech mic for the tuning wizard. What exact error are you getting? Please be more specific with OS being used, applications, etc.

Sound

they may need to increase the mic volume in the sound settings, and even better if they are using a laptop it may well have mic boost in the settings. Tell them also to make sure they set the cam up in the relevant im programme they are using.
