I had the same problem and no help from HP Tech support. They had system for week and climed that nothing wrong. When I got it back from HP and it still rotates constantly with no reason. Then I deside to replace laptop keyboard and to my surprise this took a care of BIG problem. No screen rotation I have ever experienced.
By replacin dirty or defective keyboard I solved this problem.

This is the hardware problem you can get fix by laptop repaire service personnel .
bye
I had this issue once, the screen did not only flip around. It also inverted from left to right. Once I recognized the problem, I have to login my user name and password from right to left instead of left to right. Once logged in, I soft shut the computer down. Waited about 2 minutes and turned the computer on with no problems. I have not experineced this issue again. You must recognize that the computer is inverting from top to bottom and from left to right. good luck.
SOURCE: Disable TC4400 auto rotate
First in Control Panel -> Tablet and Pen Settings, select Display Tab, then click on Change button next to Sequence. I set 1 as Landscape - Primary, then 2-4 as None.
Second, Go to Control Panel -> HP Quick Launch Buttons -> select Preferences tab -> uncheck the checkbox that says, "Enable Automatic Mode Change"
This worked for me!

TC4400 screen rotates repeatedly and uncoltrollably on its own. Never happens when operating on battery power. Happens when plugged into AC power
Same problem
Screen image starts randomly rotating. Does anyone know what the hardware fix is? We called HP and were told they had no idea what we were talking about.
I have the same problem - it only rotates when plugged into AC power.
yeah, i'll be using it in normal, non-tablet mode and the screen just starts going crazy and rotates randomly with some error popping up about how the tablet cannot perform some operation and tells me to contact hp for assistance. Kinda sucks when I misplace my pen and having to navigate with the pointer haha
I have the same problem...only when plugged in
I have the same problem.. mine is a company computer and I sent it in twice, they switched out the shell/mouse/keyboard and it is still doing it. I've heard of others with this computer having this problem or just a mouse that jumps. Normally mine is only when it is plugged in but it was rotating constantly so I unplugged it and it's still rotating!
