What is wrong with my ice despensor not turning to kick out the ice that is being made?

Did someone switch the water dispenser side of the dual water control valve wiring to the wrong side? If someone has switched the wires around not knowing the difference this will happen. Look around the fresh food section door frame for the mofel number of your refrigerator. If you post the model number I may be able to provide a wiring diagram. Without the model number I will only guess what model you have. Also there may be more involved here. Please provide a model number so I know what you have. Thanks Sea Breeze

my kenmore did the same thing, It had a duel water solenoid on it and one that let water into the door water dispenser went bad. also my ice cube started to get smaller, the rubber in the other side of the water solenoid was dry rotting and eventually ruined the ice maker. I replaced the duel solenoid and ice maker and had no more problems.The solenoid is on the back of the fridge, it is what the main water supply connects to.

No, this is a built-in function and should work when you push the crushed ice lever. If it is not working, you now know why it was moved to the garage, because it does not work.

The solenoid that actuates the flap to dump ice may be shorting out internally and need to be replaced.

follow the line down the back sometimes it freezes up. You might have to remove panel behind. try this

Check circuit fuse,electrical connections,check your door circuit & buttons.

You may have lost a thermal fuse.

sounds like your folter may be plugged up or frozen, the water goes to the filter first then to the dispenser and ice maker look there first.

Pull the grill cover off near the floor and look to see if any of the wires have been cut. I found that the grill cover wore on the wires controlling the door functions. First the crushed ice function went, then the water dispenser went. I had splice the wires back together and am leaving the grill cover off. No problems since.
