The J1850 bus is the single wire PCI data bus, which is used by most of the electronic components for the communication in between them. The shorted to battery message means that at some point 12V is fed to this bus. Normal bus voltage measured with a digital volt meter is fluctuating between 2 and 3 volts more or less.

"BUS Er" indicates Serial data bus shorted low/open/high. It is number 1 priority DTC fix

If speedometer reads "BUS Er" with the ignition key turned ON with the run/stop switch at RUN with the engine off, check the data bus for an open or short to ground between the data link connector [91A] terminal 3 and ICM connector [10B] terminal 12 on carbureted models, AND on EFI MODELS, ECM connector [78B] terminal 5 , TSSM connector [30B] terminal 3, speedometer connector [39B] terminal 2 or if a tachometer is installed, tachometer connector [108B] terminal 2.

Also check for an open diagnostic test terminal between the data link connector [91A] terminal 3 and the TSM/TSSM connector [30B] terminal 3. With the ignition key turned ON, serial data bus voltage should be typically 0.6-0.8 volts. The range of acceptable voltage is 0-7.0 volts.

Wiggle the instrument and/or vehicle harness to identify possible intermittent problems.

Codes U1000 & U1152 are related to the digital data bus communications, U1152 is specific for the HVAC control unit data bus. troubleshooting this will require a Tech II scan tool.
P0105 is related to the MAP sensor circuit.

I used the short term solution of switching the vhf,s requirement to have a lat long from the plotter via the vhv,s menu.
