Maytag Legacy Series Top Load Washer model SAV515DAWW splashing

Machine is splashing water over the top of the tub on the aggitation cycle. I recently replaced the main tub seal and I'm wondering if i didn't put the transmission assembly back together correctly. The tub appears to be spinning durring aggitation causing the water to climb up the sides of the tub and splash over the top. Shouldnt it be more of a pulse like action working alternately against the agitator? All other cycles are working correctly.

Maytag legacy series washer

The drive motor which spins the drum is connected to the drum by a rubber belt. Sounds like the belt is burned through. Make sure you can spin the inside tub by hand to verify that the tub can turn freely before you replace the belt. The hum is from the drive motor just spinning freely.

I have a Legacy SAV405DEWW machine wont run

I just had the same problem. The washer would stop about 2/3 through the spin cycle and not start again. Replaced the timer. That did NOT solve the problem.

Making an awful ratcheting noise during aggitation and spin cycles

Under the agitator there is a rachet mechanism that works the agitator. If it is stripped, it will skip until the next good tooth.. when it fails entirely the agitater will stop going back and forth. Its nylon and age along with overloading hastens its dearg.. If you can get the parts you can replace it yourself without difficulty. There is a single bolt in the center of the agitator top . Remove and loft agiyator straight up.

Maytag Legacy Series Top Load Washer model SAV515DAWW When filling, the cold water just trickles in and takes a long, long time to fill. When I unscrew the hose from the washer and turn the water on it...

From what you have said, you may have a bad solenoid in your water fill valve. it's the rubber piece under the debris screen. if you can get that out and replace it, you'll be golden.

Maytag legacy series washer not holding water

Same problem here. But according to Maytag Service, the draining pipe may be too deep inside the draining tube on the wall, thus creating a siphon effect and not allowing the tub to fill.
Their suggestion is to ckeck the pipe and make sure no more than 6-8 inches are inside the draining pipe. This should take care of the suction. We'll see, Imma do that when I get home.
