Autofocus is activated by pressing the shutter button halfway, be shure to have a EF lens in the camera, otherwise it won't make autofocus, put camera on full auto mode or "sports mode" (the running guy) and the focus settings on redictive AI Servo AF: Continuously tracks subject movement and achieves focus before the exposure starts.

Need a copy of the canon rebel k2 manual

You may request a free copy of the manual here. You'll have to email the webmaster and specify the Canon Rebel 2K manual. The webmaster also requests a contribution, but that is optional.

I just purchased a Canon EOS Rebel K2 35 MM film camera body. What lenses are compatible with this camera?

The Rebel K2 has the Canon EF mount. It is compatible with any EF lenses except the EF-S series. It will also work with third-party lenses that are compatible with the Canon EF series.

You can see the entire current line of Canon lenses (including the EF-S series) at

There is a minimal focusing distance for all lenses. If you move closer to the subject than that distance then the camera won't focus on it. Check you lens manual for minimal focusing distance. It is 11 inches for Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 USM, for example.

My canon eos rebel k2 will not turn on even with brand new batteries in it. What could be wrong?

Dirty contact in the battery compartment, bad power circuit, bad switch etc. Too many things to be able to fix in this forum. Send it in for service or buy another used one, that may cost a lot less than getting yours repaired.

How to take action shots with the canon rebel xs

There is an action shot setting on the wheel on the top of the camera. If you want to manually control the camera:
-Raise ISO -Select Tv mode (shutter priority mode) -Select a fast shutter speed -Manual focus on what you want to take -Take multiple pictures so one will be good

Dealy on snapping pictures

Check your focus modes to see if you are using one that is different to usual. When a DSLR has no focus lock it won't take a picture. Also verify that the focus motor in the lens is working ok. Google 'lens focus tests' and see what you can come up with.

Canon eos rebel k2

That all depends on what you have your settings for. If you are not using the program mode, you'll need to make sure to check your Aperature and Shutter speed. Adjusting these might make your pictures come out better. Make sure to check your light meter, the needle or indicator should be in the middle for best results.
