The C drive on my PC showed a red bar, saying that it has very little space. What can I do?

Hi all, The C: drive on my PC showed a red bar, saying that it has very little space. Did everything to clear the space, viz defrag, disk cleanup, deleting unwanted programs/files, running ccleaner, disabling msconfig, etc. The space increased from 100 MB to 4 GB. The next day, suddenly, for no reason, the space reduced by 2.5 GB and the red bar appeared again. Apparently, nothing new installed or big file saved. Can't understand how to track the issue. Pls help.

There are number of reasons why your drive space decreased dramatically. It could be the swap file is set to be managed by Windows or you put the computer to hibernate instead of completely shutting it down. Ran thorough virus scan using malwarebytes and remove threats that would be found. Also check your drive for bad sectors by using CHKDSK from windows or 3rd party app such as HD Tune. Torrent downloads may also eat up the drive space as it tends to consume the space equal to the size of the app being downloaded, even before it's done. IF everything checks out with your drive and you're still having space issues, consider buying a larger capacity hdd and clone your existing drive. Format the old one & use it as backup or extra drive.

Make a backup as soon as possible. And if you don't have a virus, assume you drive is dying. Run the check disk program AFTER the backup, to see ho bad it is and start saving for a new HD.

Testimonial: "Thanks !!! I'll do that."

Windows does not have enough room to work on the C: hard drive. You need to defragment it or remove some large files.
D: drive size doesn't matter as Windows will always use the C: drive for its working files.

How to elimate the circular moving dots during video playback?

That should just be a buffer. Give the video enough time to load from the source. Generally, there are two lines at the bottom on the playback bar, in the same space. Like, on YouTube for instance, there is the red line that shows how much you've watched, and a grey line that shows how much of the video is loaded. If not enough of the video has loaded, and the red bar catches up to the grey, it will buffer and show the circular moving dots.

Pop up box says no available space o GB?

Click Start, then Computer. If it shows no (or very little) free space on C:, you are truly out of room and need to delete or move some files to another hard drive (external hard drives are good for this). To operate efficiently, a good rule of thumb is to have at least 20% of your hard drive free.

Hi,
If you're using Windows 7 or 8 or Vista, that means that a lot of the disk has been used, and the left memory in the disk is low. Can you please provide me with the data of max space on the disk, used space and the remaining space. Thank you!

R 528 my laptop is problem by c drive in red line today my lape vista window and other drivers by correct with blue

Hi

I think it could be because the hard drive is almost full and not enough free working space on it
because windows needs to have a few GB,s free to use as working space without it it cannot run correctly

could you please go to

start
computer/local disk (c) properties
write down what it says please for

free Space ???GB

Can you also check to see if you are storing lots of video,s or hundred's of pictures
on the c drive either in your documents or desktop maybe
or have you done lots of backups which could be taking up your space

please check this out for us and come back to us also telling us what operating system you

Low disk space

If you are using windows as your o/s; open the control panel, click on performance & maintenance, run a disk cleanup then defrag your drive. The recovery bar red means that the space allotted for recovery operations is very low. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.
