I have a nec nw-691, when you put it on spin cycle it brings error message --lid open??? plz help

Shows error code LE. tried a reset but didnt work. all other cycles work perfect but not the spin cycle. i have just recently moved house and it worked perfect b4 i moved

Yuo might try making sure it is still level but I'd just try using a lower spin speed. How have to use "gentle spin" when I wash towels or my washing machine has errors and stops. If still too damp just use a gentle spin only cycle once more to finish the job.

It sounds like your lid switch is not working correctly, look to see if there is supposed to be a finger that protrudes from the bottom of the lid and enters a hole in the top of the washer, this is a safety switch to ensure the lid is closed, it is possible the actuator finger is broken or missing, If this is the case, I have heard of people manually actuating the switch to finish the load, I am not suggesting that because there is a safety issue, but it has been done. Your washer might not have an exposed actuator,it could be hidden under the washer top, but the LE error code indicates the lid is open.

I have a top load machine which shows LE error code despite lid is closed properly. This continues for half an hour then machine starts working again but the error resumes after every two minutes. Plz help
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
'LE' stands for Lock/Lid Error. There is likely to be a problem with either the lid solenoid/lock or the 'lid closed' sensor. Both require a service engineer's attention I suggest ;-0(

I am Looking for the meaning to eror code LE on my washing machine it is an nec model No NW 452
According to what's written in the manual...

'LE' will light up if the machine is unbalanced or the lid is open. This can be corrected by following operation: WATER SUPPLYfi RINSEfi DRAIN. However if the unbalanced condition is unchanged despite repeating the above operation, the lamp 'UE' will light up, and the buzzer will sound to indicate a problem.

Found the manual for a similar model. LE error code indicates a "Lid Open" error. Most likely the little switch that is tripped when you open the lid has failed due to corrosion or some other reason. If you can find an equivalent switch then replacing it should do the trick. Otherwise, you can simply short the connection so the machine thinks that the lid is always closed. WARNING: This effectively overrides the open lid detection system and poses the risk of having the unit run a spin cycle even with the lid open! find a replacement switch if you can. good luck! just shorted mine out temporarily and it works -- until i can find the right switch.

Won't spin, error LE appears on display
If the washer seems to complete all of its cycles, but doesn't spin: 1) Be sure the load of clothes is not lop-sided. If the tub becomes unbalanced, it may spin erratically or not at all. Open the lid after 2 minute gap and reposition the clothes. This automatically resets an off-balance shut-off switch. Close the lid and re-try. 2) Check the lid switch and the tab on the lid that strikes it. If the plastic tab is broken, the washer may halt during the spin cycle. If the switch doesn't click when you press and release it, it's probably broken. If you're experienced at home repair, you can remove the switch, test it, and replace it if needed; otherwise, call an appliance repair service person. 3) The belt may be loose, worn, or broken. If you're fairly handy, tighten or replace the belt, otherwise call an appliance repairperson. Pl post back results
