The screen will not power up but the vizio light will light up

The main board is out.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Its probably damaged the board that powers the backlight in the surge. Repairs on this depending on the size of the TV might out way the cost of replacement. I

Vizio TV model E371VL turned on ok and had tv show on ch.4.
Turned on the DVD player and put movie dvd in and closed tray.
We have done thhis numerous of times and never had a problem.
This time " HDMI " was showing on top right of black screen,
then " No Signal " came up on screen, then went completely black screen. Called Vizio, they had me power off and unplug set.
Push and Hold power button on TV for 30 sec. to reset.
Replug set and Vizio (lighted) on lower front of set lighted normally dull orange. Pushed power button on remote and when set did not come on, then push main power button on side of TV. Nothing, no White " Vizio " from orange light. Is this a power supply (0500-0412-1020) problem ? Thanks, Sidney ([email protected])

Unplug the set and do not for any reason plug it back---unless skilled have the set looked at by a technician or a repair shop.

Best guess without seeing set would be power supply problem but it could b e in another area.

Likely power supply but UNPLUG SET AND DO NOT TRY TO USE AGAIN UNTIL SOMEONE OPENS IT AND EXAMINES IT.

The Service Plan from Walmart is an "extended plan" on top of the manufacture warranty. Your Tv is still under warranty from the manufacture.

this is most likely the sustainer board(s) problem. Replacing the sustainer boards should correct this problem for you. you can get the parts at vancebaldwin.com

replace the sustainer boards should correct this problem. New sustainer boards may cause red and green pixilation. If this happen, replace control board and TV is as good as new.
