Babies don't breathe in the womb. They receive all their oxygen and nutrients via the umbilical cord.

They don't breathe. Baby takes his first breath when he cries for the first time after birth. When the baby is in the womb, his lungs are filled with amniotic fluid and are not involved in supplying oxygen to the body, he gets the oxygen from his mother via the umbilical cord.

I have a vtech baby monitor and parent monitor keeps flashing lihter and darker

Just buy an Owlet monitor. It's better in every single way for monitoring a baby. You can see a heartbeat and breath there. Check the review here https://www.babymonitortown.com/owlet-smart-sock-review-this-baby-heart-rate-monitor/.

What is a pacifier?

"A pacifier (North American English), dummy (Britain and other Commonwealth countries), binky, or soother (in some countries) is a rubber, plastic, or silicone nipple given to an infant or other young child to suck upon. In its standard appearance it has a teat, mouth shield, and handle. The mouth shield and/or the handle is large enough to avoid the danger of the child choking on it or swallowing it." (Wikipedia)

Can you use sleep medication for babies? My 6 month old has terrible sleeping patterns and we are exhausted. A family friend suggested we use a sedative. Is that ok?

You should never give babies any drugs unsupervised. It can be really dangerous. I know it's really hard to be sleep deprived when you have young kids but medicating them isn't the answer. You can get advice and support for the sleep issues and definitely speak to your doctor about it, but don't ever give medication without medical supervision.

The air blowing out of the vents is only 76 degrees.

Check the condenser coil and see if it blowing warm, or not warm air. Also, clean it and check the filter.Any furnace or A.C. unit has to be clean. I tell all of my customers to assume you have a baby in your hands, and you put a pillow over the baby's face. The baby cannot breathe. It is the same with furnace and A.C units:THEY HAVE TO BREATH.

Can you put the sleep system in a moses basket?

If there is room, there shouldn't be a problem. If there is a block for the baby not to breath well, then I wouldn't suggest it.
