I have an LG washer (top loader ; 1 yr old). It has many programs to use for different washing. Suddenly,it started to fill water, not wash, then once water is full, drain and so on. so it seems like its programming got ruined somehow!! what should I do!!.
To avoid such problems, I always use manuals to avoid this, you can familiarize yourself with many LG models on this site with manuals http://lg.manymanuals.com

Is there an error code shown on the display?
Which cycle(s) gives you this problem?
Does this happen 100% of the time.

No it does not display anything!
It happens everytime
it starts to fill, then once done filling to the top, it does not wash, it just drains the water out

Call LG customer service. The unit is probably still in warranty. If not contact a certified LG repair shop and have them come examine and if possible repair the machine.

Hi,
No you just need to get the drain hose up higher...the water is siphoning out and is either caused by the end of the drain hose still in water and not having an air gap or the hose is not going up higher then the top of your washer...
Lifting the hose up should give you an air gap and get the hose high enough to stop the siphoning...

the system which controls water level is an air chamber with a small diameter pipe which goes to a pressure stat. when the correct level is reached, the pressure in the air chamber switches the pressure stat and cuts the water off. the things to look for are: gunge in the air chamber split in the pipe. faulty pressure stat to test, get a similiar length of small diameter pipe and connect it to the pressure stat instead. with the machine filling, blow gently into the pipe and see if the water intake cuts off

Usually answered in minutes!
by the way, the washer is filling OK as normal, then once done filling, it starts to drain. If there were some siphoning, i would not fill to max and then satrt to drain!! Am I missing something here? thanks
Does the machine display an error code while draining the water?
