TV just shuts off randomly. Any idea what the problem might be?

I have a Samsung DLP TV HL-P4663W that has recently started to just turn off at random. Usually I can turn it back on and works fine, but may or may not repeat the turn off again in an hour or so. Any idea what might be causing the problem.

    Thats exactly what it was!! I was fixing to buy a new ballast for my samsung tv, I changed the lamp but it was still shutting off in less than a minute, I didnt have the back cover on which, so the door switch wasnt depressed!!!! Thanks for the help.

Our Samsung HL-P4663W DLP is makes noise and shuts off
It is the color wheel, inside the light engine. The bearings get dirty and makes it harder for the wheel to spin causing that whin.

you have the same problem I have. The problem is fixed by changing the new light bulb. The problem appears again after 1500 hours of use. You can keep buying new light bulbs or avoid it by not buying another Samsung TV.
