Could be, Try any of the online appliance parts stores, Mfg, model possibly year. There is a possibility depending on age that a "reversing switch" is not working properly or connections from or to it are bad. Or possibly the drive motor is not "accepting" the switch's instruction.
Thanks gbob59 for the advice. This model does not have a switching relay and I had a known good motor I swapped in but it didn't fix it. I took the timer off and opened it up to check it out and found some contacts that were burned up pretty good. In hopes that I found the problem I cleaned them, checked the continuity and operation, then reassembled it. I reinstalled the timer only to have the same issue. At that point I was done, a month and a half ago I had just put a used transmission, tub seal, and had to rig a wallowed out tub where the seal sits in the same washer. It worked perfectly, until it didn't work perfectly. We bit the bullet and got a new LG he top load washer and I am very impressed. I hope this new one can last 12 years before it has issues like my old one did, time will tell.
Thanks again!
