This problem is commonly refered to as a CONVERGENCE problem. Question 1 do you have convergence seting in setup menu...if you do NOT it could be a special small fuse. 2 if you go into setup then convergence. then can you move crosshairs in setup. Since you have a arcing picture this indicates convergence power supply problems....in which has to be replaced or repaired,
# 1 above you have covergence problems ,there is a service flash from rca to fix your fault, ask your tv shop. fault # 2 above turn off the color and adjust your screen settings for a grey picture, set brightness and contrast to middle settings. # 3 fault read #1 cause if your auto focus will not correct you require service there is a harness connector that looses connection and causes several fualts on the 52" rca's you can repair the fault but if you miss the harness replacement you will do it again.
It sounds like you have an arcing solder connection somewhere in the power input to your TV. This is a loose connection somewhere.
You might confirm this by jarring the set while it in operation. (Not too hard)
If the problem shows up then a loose connection is confirmed.
Also a component may be breaking down internally.
You need to have a tech check it for you.
Sounds like you have a high voltage arc if the sound is not coming through the speakers.
Possibly the high voltage leads are not pushed in all the way. Be careful! Make sure the set is off and you may also want to ground these leads before you touch them. Youcan get a nasty shock if you don't.
