Not exactly familiar with this model but sounds like the projector lamp is burned out. Hopefully it's a replaceable type. Try calling these people - http://www.purelandsupply.com
it sounds to me like your tube has gone , go to your local tv repair shop and order a new tube its quite cheap to do so and they should be able to get it you quite fast.
Try a "hard restart"', which simply means unplugging the power cord of your TV, and replugging it after 4 hours have passed. This technique helps to reprogram the electronics of your TV.

depending on the model it could be serveral things. it could be convergence ic's gone bad or a problem with the power supply, something is shuting it down . contact mitsubishi for your nearest sevicer
