Question about Toshiba Satellite 1415-S105 Notebook

1 Answer

Nvidea I deleted an nvidea program in an attempt to update drivers for Ge Force 4 420 GO. Now I dont have full resolution. I cannot find the program i deleted in my recycle bin. I have tried a system restore, but I am assuming because I deleted the program, it cannot restore. My cd player will not play my restore cd's so I cannot restore it that way. I am very unsure of myself in attempting to do anything with my registry.

The Ge Force 4 420 GO is too old to have any help on the nvidea website, I went there first. I've searched the internet for something that works, and been unsuccessful at finding something I am able to implement. Why can't I find the deleted program in my recycle bin?

that driver component was helpful in that the 3/4" black strip at the far right side of the monitor is gone, and the option to change display resolution has returned. However, no attempt to change the resolution will actually take!! It appears to be related to choosing between the dual monitor options, although I use only one monitor, the one attached to the laptop. I am stuck at 800x640 resolution!! Any more suggestions?

tom, ty for all your help in this. I do not see anywhere to refresh.. please tell me how to do this. I will try to look it up, while I wait for your answer. One thing I did discover is that in device manager, looking at the drivers for display, under properties of current driver, it says there are no drivers ... how weird. When i tried to load drivers to it, the wizard stopped and said there were none, even when I directed the wizard manually to the drivers I downloaded earlier. I do not understand this.

ty Tom. Refreshing did not seem to make any difference in this situation. I still have a black line 3/4" wide on the side of my screen, and am unable to change the resolution, and am stuck with 800x640.

i can change it to 32, but it still makes no difference, the changes are not accepted. This laptop has a dual monitor option. It used to run on that option, even tho' I didnt have a second monitor. I am able to make changes to the default (single) monitor option, but those changes dont take effect. It appears that i need to be able to make changes when the dual monitor option is chosen, and that is the one that will not change, it is limited to the 800x640. Perhaps the issue is in choosing a monitor option, and that is not done in display? I have gone to the monitor tab and attempted to make the changes there, but still no success. Thanks again for your help.

Sometimes stuck my video player in dell laptop

It is possible nvidea has ram memory not functioning properly, or the laptop is busy with other programs causing a brief interruption while watching your video player. Check to make sure you have latest update on your video graphics card, and contact nvidea about your problem, may have a fix.

I install xp in my laptop but i didnot get drivers support xp

well is you must collect all hardware info. and go to the severall hardware brands to get drivers ex: if video card is nvidea you must go to get driver, and so on.

after 13/7/2010 the microsoft has winxp and vista "end of life", status. so no updates\support is delivered from microsoft.

That must be hardware compatibility problem with windows 7. Are you sure that you are installing the drivers for your graphics card is windows 7's drivers? If not you need to check/search on the manufacturer's website to obtain the latest driver for the hardware. If you let me know the nvidea graphics hardware model name/version, it'd be very much easier for me to help you.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Dispaly graphic drivers

first of all you need to find out what your graphics card is
eg intel onboard/ nvidea/ATI
you need make and model
I use Unidentified device driver search net and download when installed use to find type of video card note name and number (write down) go to google and search for them
EG. nvidea 2345 drivers
this is how you would put it in search engine Its the smae for any other drivers you may need in future
