Question about Razor Dirt Quad Bike

1 Answer

Razor Dirt Quad will intermittently make humming noise rather than moving when throttle is turned. This is a Christmas gift for my grandson and has less than 3 hours of riding time on it.

When being ridden it will just stop even though it is at full throttle. If the child releases the throttle and re-throttles it will start sometimes but other times it will make an apparent humming or buzzing noise and will not move. Since the child is less than 45 lbs, there should not be a weight or overheating issue. The second one with a heavier child works find.

I have exactly the same problem and it started right around the time the "gracious" 90-day warranty period expired.....
The battery lights had been on for days, indicating a full charge, but nothing happens when turning the throttle. Battery housing is very cumbersome to open, but I'll try to disconnect the battery next.

Why does throttle click when turned but quad does nothing?

Sounds to me like you have a broken throttle wire. Check at carb to see if linkage moves when you move the throttle at handle bars.

Hi, my son has an electric razor quad bike with two 6 volt batteries. We have just replaced both batteries and the full charge light shows when you switch it on but it still wont start up. Can you...

The batteries should be 2 x 12v giving an output of 24v anything less than this the Razor Dirt Quad will not run. always make sure you buy genuine Razor replacement batteries.

Quad is charged but will not move- hear a clicking noise from the controller on the frame- checked the fuse-ok- battery has 24 volts from it- seems to be the controller- do not see it on the parts list-...

I have a dirt quad exhibiting the exact same symptoms previously described. I ordered a new controller and replaced it. The quad is making the exact same noise and did not resolve the problem. I tested the motor wire with my volt meter which registered approx 10-11 volts before the controller made a clicking noise and immediately the voltage drops to 0. I'm curious as to whether it may be the throttle?? I'm frustrated at this point. I tested the battery and it reads 24.6 V on the meter. Any ideas??
