SOURCE: problem with b-472 after printer sets for a period

Have you cleaned the printhead recently? residual label glue and ribbon debris can build up on the printhead. It's recommended that the printhead is cleaned everytime thr ribbon is replaced

Black ribbon is not back feeding same amount/speed as label, leaving black smudge at beginning of label

This is due to the quality of the ribbon.
When the paper moves back, since the head is not raised, the paper rubs on the ribbon en is the cause of the black smudge. Use correct Ribbon

Gaps in barcode with Zebra S4M

By gaps, do you mean a "void" area ? Over time, the elements on the printhead will wear down and finally they won't transfer heat to the ribbon. This causes a gap or void area. Usually the elements go out one or two at a time. If the area that is worn out is supposed to be printing bars for the barcode, this will cause the scanning problem you are experiencing.

The best way to see if elements are worn out is to design a label that has a thick solid black line across the label or a solid black box. You will see white vertical lines in the areas where elements are worn out. Another method would be to use the widest and longest label you have and print a 'pause" test label. This is done by turning off the printer, pressing and holding on the PAUSE key while turning on the printer. Hold the pause key for 10-15 seconds and when the printer is done with it's power on self test, it will start printing out a test pattern label which includes a nice black area where you can look for the white vertical lines.

Hope that helps !

Zebra Xi III

yes .. the print heads can be calibrated to compensate for cold labels or you could just warm them up .. if they are really cold then it takes longer to expose the image .. if you dont compensate for that then the letters will not be fully developed (grey)

Printed Tape Cuts Off Letters

I was having the ame issue. Found the solution on the user manual (posted online). Press Function, scroll to "Margin", press "Function", use arrows to select "#" or "##", then press Function again. Now it should print with a margin, thus not cutting off your letters. Mine was set to "-", which is basically no margin.

Cant print on butterfly label with Zebra TLP 2844 printer

This is a problem of label sensing.

You are probably using the Gap sensor on the 2844, unfortunately the shape of the butterfly labels means you are sensing the wide gap between the labels in the centre, so it will not print anything in the apparent gap area on both ends of the label.

What your label or system supplier should have done is supplied you with the same labels but with a 3mm wide black mark on the underside of the label backing paper, centred between the labels. You can then change the printer sensor setting in the driver to Black Mark. You will then be able to print anywhere between the black marks.

Poor Quality (black line)

Check the temperature settings. If all of the text and barcode is clear and not fuzzy, check the platten roller for low areas, cuts, or other deformity.

Casio HR-100TE

The problem of your unit is its printer. Probably the gears has misaligned. Only an authorized technician can align the printer of that unit, because it is a bit difficult to align the gears.

Try to contact the nearest service center of casio in your area.
