When you have rechargable batteries, you can't change much. You should charge them on a regualr bases. like at least every 2 or 3 months, even when you are not using the camera.
New barreries only will have a full capacity after 2 or 3 charge / discharge cycles. Older batteries, try to charge, use and charge them a few times. If nothing changes, you should buy a new battery.
Don't try to charge Alkaline or zinc carmon batteries. Beter not use these in a camera. If you still have Nicd batteries, don't use them again, replace them with NiMH rechargables.

it;s a Li ion battery that i got. and where i live i have to order it from abroad so its gonna take time and i'm travelling tomorrow so i guess i cant boost it right?

Although there are lithium ion batteries you can charge, you most likely have one you can't charge. It should say rechargeable if not, don't try to do so, because it can explode. Success.

Check the mhr on the batteries you use
they should be re-chargeable batteries as alkaline batteries do not have what it takes and run down very quickly
the re-chargeable battery should be around the 2000 mhr rating

Toyota avalon 2000 battery flat ...put starter pack on battery start pack fully charged .....did not start car only clicked starter motor gone ?

Those starter packs are really for a boost . If your battery is dead
its better to replace it especially Toyota they seem to be finicky about a good stiff battery
if you have a multi meter put it on the battery terminals and have someone try to crank while observing the voltage
if the voltage drops below 10 volts usually that battery is on the road to letting you down

Dead battery boost

Try charging it with a trickle charger. It might come back.
The alternator circuit is tricky and requires some battery power to excite the electromagnets in the alternator to start producing power.
It may or may not have been triggered by the boosting battery.

Boosting a dead Battery

Only that when you connect the last cable end, you usually get a large spark, which could make the battery explode if it has fumes coming out the vents.
You want to make the last connection somewhere away from the battery.

I just got a 1995 bmw 381i. I left it park for 2 nights unused then went out this morning to use it but it wont come on. Its probably the battery but I don't know what to do next. Is there a quick...

Give the car a boost. Hook cables from one battery to another making sure the red , [pos] is on the red [pos] , and black [neg] is connected to black [neg] of other vehicle. Let car charge this way for a few minutes and restart. Sounds like a bad battery, won't hold the charge. Does the car turn over at all, or everything is dead? A tow company will offer boosts as so do most cab companies. Good luck

There is a switch above the break peddle that is adjustable for the break lights. This is running your battery down that is why the gauges are jumping. Change the battery.. If it is 5 years old draining it dead will kill the cells. Hope this helps.

First of all, never boost or jump start a car if you can help it.
You should always try to charge the battery instead.
That is because if you do get a car started when it has a really bad battery, the odds are you will cook the alternator as it tries to recharge the dead battery.

The reason the battery went dead while stilling for 4 days, is because something stayed on.
That is what you are hearing when you attached the good battery.
You must find out what it is and turn it off, or you will keep losing batteries.
Since nothing should be on and most things are not loud enough to hear, I suspect something powered through a relay, where the relay is sticking on.
The 2 that come to mind first are the electric radiator fan, and the fuel pump.
You should be able to pin it down by listening to the location of the sound.

I had the same problem of the battery charger blinking...

You can fix this! If the battery is really low it won't communicate witht the charger... thus the blinking red light. Charger says - I see you are trying to use me, but I don't recognize this battery. The battery needs a little shot of charge so it can communicate with the charger. Put the battery in and take it out quickly a few times. This will give it the little boost it needs to be able to talk to the charger. Then, you will find, you can charge!

Car started fine..stopped, no restart, no click, dead lights on.

try getting a boost for your car.... the battery may be failing. it doesn't take alot of power to turn on the lights... but a huge drain on the battery to start it. if it will not start with a boost i could very well be that the starter has failed. as you attempt to start it... have someone tap the starter with a hammer. if it starts... replace the starter.... if it starts normally with a boost you likely need a new battery
