I have kenmore he4. My cloathes dont dry completley. My flame ignites for 20 seconds then goes out. Then this behavior continues about every 5 minutes throughout the cycle. Ad the cycle continues the sensor reports wet, then damp, then cool down, then dry. Yet the cloathes are still damp when done. Thermal fuse, thermister, valve coils, and flame sensor all test good. I even replaced the thermal fuse, thermister, coils, and high temp thermostat. The dryer still does not completly dry cloathes. The airflow path is good. Nothing stuck etc.... What can I do? Is my board bad? Is it the sensor?

SOURCE: Kenmore Dryer only lights gas sporaticly

replace the igniter. The ignitor is the most comon problem with gas appliances checking continuity does not tell you if it is bad or not it has to draw a certain amount of amps to open the gas safty valve and the is no safe way to check this on most gas dryers

SOURCE: Whirlpool dryer makes buzzing sound when flame should start.

Sounds like the valve is trying to open and the buzzing is the restriction of it opening. Coil is obviously correct, but actual solonoid is sticking. Replace it and see. If flame isnt detected, it will stop.

SOURCE: Estate gas dryer heats up but then flame goes out

It's likely the problem with the airflow. High limit thermostat is turning the gas valve off. Clean/replace the vent and lint trap.Check if there is anything stuck to the grille inside the dryer.

SOURCE: what about the drying time takes forever. I

you still have a block somewhere.remove the duct that the lint filter slides into, make sure the outside vent is clear and blow out the vent line with a leaf blower,i told this to someone else and they blew a birds nest out of the line and they said the line was clear, also remove the t-stats on the blower wheel housing and check the back of them, sometimes lint and dust gets stuck on the back of them and they don't read right.if that looks fine change out the gas coils but i'd say you have a clog somewhere

Clothes won't dry, works sometime.

Either a bad flame sensor or bad coils on the gas valve assembly.

Clothes not drying properly

Consider a blocked air flow/vent problem or bad gas valve selonoids. Important to check outside vent door if present to make sure it is opening all the way. If not the dryer goes off on thermal overload. If vent is clear consider selonoids located on top of gas valve held in place with 2 philip head screws. One has a two prong electrical plug and the other has a three. Last check Lp tank for gas. Thank you

Mine has an "auto dry" button. It says underneath, "Press & hold 3 seconds..." to unlock control. I did it, it worked.

Gas ignites but goes out after 15 or 20 seconds

Hello gdurawa
Welcome to Fixya
My name is Huum,

You said, upon starting my Kenmore gas dryer the igniter glows and the gas ignites, but the gas goes out after 15 or 20 seconds - clothes don't dry.

This means either the igniter is bad and not getting hot enough to make the gas continue to release completely and stay open, so it shut off.
or you have a bad gas module.
Or a bad gas valve without enough pressure.
Needs to be diagnosed hands on at your location .
