Black screen - no flashing white cursor in the upper left corner - no picture at all, i.e. the initial Dell start-up screen doesn't show up either:
- LCD is dead or isn't getting a signal - not an easy fix; or
- the LCD isn't being sent a signal - holding down the function [Fn] key and press display Function key to toggle through its settings (LCD panel only, Rear VGA output only, both LCD and VGA output)

Black screen - flashing white cursor in the upper left corner - the screen goes black after the windows loading screens come up but before the windows login screen comes up - it is probably a windows video driver problem. Try starting in Windows Safe Mode with VGA. Press [F8] after the Dell startup screen disappears to access the windows startup menu

When you go into the split screen, and you don't want to be there, just click the little arrow in the lower right hand corner (the arrow pointing down and to the right). This will reduce the bottom map portion into a small overview box in the lower right portion of the screen. It only takes a second to get out of the split screen that way. To get back into split screen, click the arrow in the upper left corner of the overview box (the arrow pointing up and to the right).

I had the same problem. all the service reset would only make the display come on for a few second with no "k" on the screen - only the channel would show up. I purchased a complete set of board for the lcd on ebay, and started swapping them one by one. The inverter boards were the culpret. Tele working 100% since that board swap.

There is strong magnetic field around the TV. This may be due to the tower speakers or any portable radio kept close by.

Re orient the TV try switching OFF / ON at the intervals of 30 minutes. The built in auto de-gauser will correct the problem. In cable TV program if the picture is OK, nothing wrong in the TV.

Check with a different CD.

Just let Windows install IE 8 and now the desktop picture is over
Change the resolution. Right click in the middle of the screen over nothing, and select properties then select the settings tab and move the slider left for larger resolution.

I can't add my music or any other type of file to the right place
go to files...nandflash..click...should open up explorer.....scroll down, all your music should be there...once you find your music....click to highlight it....touch the button in the upper right hand corner...the next screen is explorer menu...."add audio to list....once you do this....it will read success....only problem, you have to do it for every song....music goes to music files...once you go to music files..."all songs"....plays your music continuously...
