Washing cycle not working. Machine can be made to spin and empty but get to wash cycle and it shows washing/cleaning but does not move. Will fill and empty though.

Broken or slipping drive belt or faulty wash motor.?

Long shot, but does it fill the same as when new? I would check the atmospheric switch which is a hollow tube that runs down the inside of the drum(not in the wash cage) when the water fills, It pushes air up to stop the fill. It may have gotten clogged. Or partially clogged.

Hi Claire if your beko washing machine wont drain or has a spin problem then you have to check the carbon brushes first.

Also check all waste pipes are clear and inspect the pump I have included this video below.

Hi ,, ok lets try some fault finding,,, try putting the washing machine on a no or low temp programme like wool,, or even the fill empty spin , see if it moves then,, if the programmer moves through then spins, i would assume the thermostat is broken,, if it moves through but does not spin , it may be the heating element,, if it does not move at all in any programme i would assume the programmer has a problem

you could try fitting new motor brush kit it wears down after 4/5 years and need replaced....please leave feedback

However, the common causes of a washing machine sticking that can easily be fixed are filling and emptying problems.
Check that the cold water supply is available to the washing machine, which is a common cause for sticking on rinses. If the washing machine appears to stop mid-cycle and isn't filling with water on rinses then see Washing machine won't fill with water (or no water goes into washing machine) before calling an engineer. If the washing machine can't drain the water out then it will stick on the rinses, or it will abort with an error code. If you can see water still inside the washing machine then check the following advice Washing machine won't empty water

Unplug machine. Change load type to medium. Clean door sensor. Set knob to drain and spin. Plug machine back in to powr. Open and close door 10 times in 15 seconds. Pull knob to activate drain and spin.

the pump is not working

Washing machine stops at the spin cycle - light flashes. Have to drain water out manually. Happened last week and was then able to run an empty rinse cycle. Machine worked normally for another week. Same problem today but have had to drain water manually from the drum after trying an empty 90 wash and rinse cycle (both stopped on the Spin and flashed). Any ideas? Thanks. x
