It sounds like you may have a broken wire inside. I would inspect the circuit board on the left side of the earpiece first. Look for shorts, broken wires or anything that looks burnt. You can use a multi meter to make sure the wires in the neck band are not broken. Here is the video showing how to open it up:

broken belt or broken broken belt switch most likely. Open the door. Hold in the door switch and push the start button. Does the drum turn? If it does turn then the broken belt micro switch is where I would look first. If the drum don't turn of course I would replace the broken belt.
The only Kenmore dryer that has a broken belt switch is the 4 wheel drive model. Here is a video which shows how to get into this dryer and replace the belt:

This dryer has a broken belt switch. If the drum turns then the belt is not broken but the broken belt switch could be. The start switch itself could be the problem. This video shows how to get into your machine:

It may be a broken menu button contact, broken menu button or (less likely) broken logic board. If Apple doesn't replace it for you, you can find the menu button or screen module on Ebay or at iPhone 3GS Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at iPhone Repair Guide.

Opening up the nintendo ds is not that difficult, there are a lot of movies on youtube showing you how to. Just open up the ds with a tri wing screwdriver (you can buy it for a dollar or 2 at dealextreme.com or psxboy.com ect...) and take the button out and put it back in place.
