Hinge assembly makes a snapping sound when door is opened

My refrigerator door assembly (bottom right side) makes a loud "snap" when the door is opened about half way. The white assembly "gadget"...(for lack of the real word..sorry) seems to move were it is attached to the underside of the door. So, when we open the door, SNAP..every time. Yes, it turns like its suppose to...but seems to be loose. We have tried to tighten it up...didn't fix the problem though....help us. We are SICK AND TIRED OF THE SNAP EVERY TIME WE OPEN THE DOOR...HELP.

I have the same problem. Its a spiral bushing that snaps when the door
is turned half way. The problem seems to be that the bushing is
plastic, and does not fit properly into the slot it revolves through.
The part should be made of steel., but it is not.

This is a self closer assembly. Try getting a new self closer and replacing both parts. The part on the door and hinge. 0The door must be removed to do this.

My LG ice maker fan is making a really loud noise right after the water stops going in

Hello, Self-defrosting refrigerators use a circulating fan to move air through the freezer and refrigerator compartment. This fan runs when ever the unit is cooling. The fan is located in the freezer, as follows:
  • If the freezer is on top, the fan is on the back wall, near the top or bottom, in the center of the freezer.
  • If the freezer is on the bottom, the fan is on the back wall, near the top of the freezer.
  • If the freezer is on the left, the fan is on the back wall, half way up or near the top.
Overtime the fan may become noisy, usually making a chirping or squealing sound, though it may make a loud groaning noise instead.
To find out if the fan is causing the noise, just open the freezer door and push in any fan/light switches, if the noise is louder when the door is open, the evaporator fan motor is the cause. You can lubricate or repair this motor. You must replace it.
There are three components on the outside back of the refrigerator that may become noisy: the compressor, the condenser fan motor(if self-defrosting), or the defrost timer (if self-defrosting).
Thanks

Right side refrigerator door of side by side does not lift when opened. Part on bottom lift appears to be broken. Is it fixable.

Good day,
The cam assembly on the bottom of the door has broken.
Common problem. With the complete make, and model number, go to any appliance parts house that sells parts for your brand. They'll know what you need.
To replace, remove all food from the door. Remove the top bracket of the door, and lift the door off. Replace defective parts, and re-assemble.

Hi Cranberry,

The part your looking for is #8201537. You can see it here.

Threading it through the door is simple if you know the secret to it. First you need to go to hardware store and get something like this about an inch, inch and a quarter. Take a piece of 1/4" tubing with you to make sure the "all-thread" will screw into the tubing snugly.

Now, screw the all-thread into the spout end of the existing tubing (the one in your fridge right now) about half the length of the all-thread. Then take the tail end of the new tubing and thread it onto the left over stub of all-thread.

Open both doors and remove the bottom grill (it's snapped in place) then close the doors. Below the freezer door hinge, you'll see the tubing coupling. Disconnect it and remove the ferrule for use on your new tubing later. Now at the same time, begin pushing the tubing from the top and pulling it from the bottom.

Door can't close on lg refrigerator

As you look straight at the white plastic square: Make sure the edge of the gasket is in place along the outer (in your case, left side) of the door. There is a metal spring near the white plastic square, and the end of that needs to be tucked into the groove of the door, not showing on the outside. Then, line up the white plastic square with the corresponding hole and use the palm of your hand to pop the gasket in, starting closer to the center of the door and working to the WP square area. (should only take about three hits.) Then, line up and snap on the long white plastic gasket retainer strip which runs from top to bottom along the inner edge of the gasket.

Right Door is making loud popping noise

After reading these posts, I fixed my refrigerator door in less than 5 minutes. The little black plastic cam on the bottom hinge was loose. To fix it, take the hinge cover off of the top with an 8mm socket, and remove the three 8mm screws holding the top hinge on. Remove the door by lifting up off of the bottom hinge and set it aside. On the bottom hinge is a black plastic cam held on by an 8mm screw. The screw on mine was really loose. Tightening it and putting the door back on made it work like new. You probably don't have a bad cam, just a loose one.
