I will like to donate my kindle. Do not want my personal info on it or the new owner to have access to my amazon account. I do not want them to buy anything on my tab.

I went on my kindle and clicked menu/settings. I deregistered it and set it to factory settings. Is this sufficient or is there something that I need to do on my actual amazon account?

I can't register my Amazon Fire HD8

To buy content and deliver it to your device, you will need to connect to a wireless network and register your Fire tablet to an Amazon account.
If you are setting up a new Fire tablet for the first time, you'll be taken through setup instructions and will have the chance to register your device. Follow the instructions on your screen.
To register your Fire tablet outside of the initial setup screens:
  1. From Home, swipe down from the top of the screen and then tap Settings.
  2. Tap My Account.
  3. Tap Register.
    • If you already have an Amazon account: Enter your Amazon account information, and then tap Continue.
    • If you do not have an Amazon account: Tap Start Here, and then follow the instructions to set up a new account.

Note: If you've forgotten your Amazon account password, you can reset it by requesting that a personalized "password reset" link be sent to your e-mail address. To learn more, go to Reset Your Account Password .
If you need to deregister your device from an Amazon account, follow the steps above, and then tap Deregister. After you deregister your device from an Amazon account, you won't be able to access items stored in the Cloud for that account.
After deregistering, you can register your Fire tablet to another Amazon account. Related Help Topics

Lost kindle how can I cancel it?

If your Kindle is lost or stolen, or you transfer ownership to another person, you will need to deregister your Kindle from your Amazon.com account. While registered, your Kindle can access your account. A user can make purchases using your 1-click settings, which could place significant charges on your credit card.

Received Kindle as Gift want to change from buyers name to my name? How

very simply, you access the Kindle devices "Settings" page and in the section that says register/deregister, you would click on the deregister option, once the device is online with the built-in wireless network connection. After which, the device is ready to be registered to a new account.
Please be aware that just changing the devices account registration does NOT delete any content; also changing registration does not provide the new owner the legal access to the books already downloaded to your Kindle, the original account that purchased the books, will retain ownership.
There is no way to give your purchased book library to the new owner of your old Kindle. If the new owner likes the books, then they will have to buy them on their own, to retain future downloading rights.

I bought a new kindle and have a question

You would need to deregister the device from the new email address/account and register it to your old address/account, the one that has the rest of your books.

Once registered to your previous account you will be able to take advantage of the Kindle Owner's Lending Library feature.
Here's more information on it: http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=200757120

Once you've registered your Kindle to your own Amazon account you may still be able to access any books on your previous account if you can take advantage of the Family Library option. Information here:

Amazon kindle instructions

according to the following page... "

How many Kindles can I use to access titles in my library?

Most books you purchase from the Kindle store may be simultaneously accessed for your personal use on up to six Kindles or Kindle-compatible devices (such as Kindle for PC or Kindle for iPhone) registered to your Amazon.com account. If the limit is less than six simultaneous copies for a specific title, you'll see the message "Simultaneous Device usage: Up to X simultaneous devices, per publisher limits" on the Amazon.com detail page.

If you reach the device limit and want to replace one of your current devices with a new one, you must first deregister and delete the content from the device you wish to replace before you can access the content in question from your new device. For device registration instructions, please see the Help page for the device you wish to register/deregister on the Kindle Support pages.

Subscription content such as magazines and blogs can only be downloaded to one Kindle at a time and cannot be accessed from Kindle for PC.

So yes, you can read the ebook on multiple devices, but be aware that there is a limit of 6 (or fewer) devices." http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/10094/if-i-buy-an-ebook-an-amazon-can-my-son-with-another-android-device-read-my-bo

How do i re-register my kindle onto a different account

First, you need to deregister the Kindle from the old account.

Deregistering will retain the already downloaded books on the E-Ink devices but wipes all purchased content tied to the old account from e.g. Kindle Fire. You cannot restore books from the cloud anymore you purchased on the old account and access to the shop is blocked until the device is registered again. Other Kindle's on the same account and the account itself remain unaffected.

You can do the deregistration from the Kindle's settings menu --> Registration or alternatively from an Amazon web site:

Log in to http://kindle.amazon.com using the old credentials (email + password).

Next, select "Manage Your Kindle" from menu that opens when you hover the mouse over the "Hello, <Name>" link in the upper right corner of the page.

Click on the center tab "Your Devices" and review the list of Kindle devices and software readers tied to your account. Select the device to deregister and click on "deregister" below.

To register the Kindle to a new account, go online with the Kindle, and follow the registration procedure callable from the settings menu. Find a detailed description on
