VFO mode is where you spin the dial yourself, and memory mode is where you pre-program the fixed frequencies you want (a.k.a. "favorites) (via a button when you are at a certain spot or with the keypad) into the various memory channels. REP+100 I imagine stands for "repeated 100kHz". When the radio is in VFO mode, pushing the button or turning he knob will change the frequency in this step repeatedly.

What are the tuning steps /procedures on a Yaesu FT 225DR. Works when tested my friends bench but not in my shack. All other 2 Meter rigs have no problem. The manual does not have this. PLEASE HELP.

You mean FT-225RD not DR ?

The RD is a base station all mode 2 meter rig. Older model.
Set the Channel switch to VFO.
Use the Band selector to set the vfo to 144, 145, 146, or 147 mhz.
Then turn the vfo knob to select the frequency.

ICOM IC-R6 is scanning very slow. 1 frequency in 2 second, not 100 frequencies in 1 second. Where is problem ? How to change speed of scanning in IC_R6 ?

The Fix

Programming via CS-R6 with Windows 10 made the problem. Scanning was very slow.

The CS-R6 program through Windows 10 made problems with the scanning speed - it became very slow, one frequency in 2 seconds instead of 100 frequencies in one second.

Through programming CS-R6 on Windows 7, the scanning speed returned to the corresponding one in the ICOM instructions - 100 frequencies per second

IC-R75 VFO freeze

This sounds like a failure of the VFO encoder, which can be caused by a static discharge from your hand. Check to see if your grounding wires have been loosened. If this is the case, then static discharge is the most likely culprit. ICOM is very good about repairing radios and getting them back to you quickly, but it is of course cumbersome at best to send radios through the parcel service.

Baofeng uv-5r will not transmit

Sounds like you have the transmit lockout set. this radio is a bit of a pain to program, but is well worth the effort. your best bet is save your settings (backup) and do a full factory reset, and start over, making sure you did not lock out the transmit on any channel or VFO...

Help!i have just purchased an i-com R5 the manual keeps referring to the VFO,i know what it means but how do i know when the scanner is actually in the vfo mode??? deranged of swansea!!!

VFO stands for Variable Frequency Oscillator. This is the function that allows you to enter frequencies. It just means you are not in memory channel mode. You can get more info at the factory web sight and download the instruction manual for free.

Fix it 10 software removal

Buy the program again install and un-install?
That is with out a doubt the most asinine thing I have ever heard. Ignore him and try booting into Safe mode then run the add /remove program. The software is simply loading with the system files and once activated is difficult to remove while the Fix-it files are running. Many spyware and Virus programs do the exact same thing.
Running in safe mode loads just the bare essential files Windows needs to run. All others are skipped..

If this fails, try downloading and installing Revo link here.
It will ask to search the registry for stray entries left behind. Let it do this, but be careful deleting the registry entries. Be sure it is a stray from the Fix-it utilities. You can usually tell by checking the entry displayed.

Revo is a powerful clean up tool.
It will TRY to use the programs un-installer first.
"Most installations set up a "un-installer" file.
If Revo does not find one, It will automatically go to the next phase and do it's best to locate all the bits and pieces and purge them.

Good luck!
Hope this helps!
