What does the error code E04 mean on Whirlpool AWU610 Washer-Dryer

The "E04" error code on your Bosch washer refers to a drainage problem as you may or may not already know. ( it can mean door lock error, but that is usually a by-product of it not draining )

What you may have is either a partially clogged pump, or a faulty pump...the later being the least likely

By chance are you getting error E04 ? If so that means
(temperature sensor) shorted or open circuit

• Check wiring
• Check wash NTC

if its a Kenmore model then this message says that the button control board has lost sight of the main control board , but its been my experience that this maybe able to be reset and it may never come back or it will not reset and the control board will need replaced (50/50)


cycling power may reset this

There are many brands of washers and the error codes are different.
What kind of washer do you have. Brand name and model number.
Open door and look around the frame for the model number.

It means your machine is not draining, Look out for the water exit open to drain water off.

E04 means that you are not draining quick enough, if you are using HE detergant then your drain line is probably clogged. There is a round access panel on the lower right corner of your washer. If you stick a small screwdriver through the tiny little hole on this panel and twist the panel off you will see the drain pump catch. You can twist this cap off by hand and remove all the debris inside. WATCH OUT a lot of water will be coming through.

The "F-1" error code means a failure occurred with the electronic controls.. This could mean that wires are broken, the electronics shorted out or a manufacturer's default error shut the washer down.

Prevention/Solution: The electronic control panel needs replacement. Find your dryer serial number and search for the part online. This is a lengthy job that usually requires a repairman unless you have dealt with and repaired dryers before.

Hello, The "e04" error code means is an indication of a water temperature sensor error below 04'c
what it means is that there is over flow of water in the sensor reader around the wire and the sensor

what you have to do to fix up the problem is to unscrew (open)the washer then cleanup the water around and also the dirt sensor and wire and allow it to relax for some time after clean up

please the clean up DOES NOT NEED water or any form of liquid to do this just apply dry cloth for the cleaning.

I could not find error f01 for maytag, but for for whirlpool, it means CCM(central control unit) unplug washer for 2 minutes then try it.
