The beeping sound is the POST, pre-operating system test trying to tell you what is wrong.

Unfortunately there is no manual available for this motherboard.

The chipset has a manual, but not a list of the POST beeps.

My emachines ran fine last nite-tonight I get a 2-3 second beep with 2 flashes of the power button no power to monitor to see any messages or ability to get into anything. Fan is running. I believe it is...

Memory problem
Try reseating the Ram modules on the motherboard, if 2 inserted, replace one at a time and test in each slot. Check both modules are running at the same speed (eg: PC3200 / DDR 400)
Not uncommon for memory modules to fail. If you get it back running again, download memtest and run it for an hour to see if it flags up Ram issues

Making beeping sound when i start up the computer

Hello,

A beep sound can be due to memory problem.

First use the following steps:

1 Turn off the system and disconnect power cables
2 Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds
3 Reconnect power cables and try to turn it on.

If you still get a continuous beep sound, the next step will be to re-seat memory modules (after turning off the system).

Beeping from E machines computer

Great,

The easiest and most common problem has to do with memory. Open your case and find the memory cards.

Most have tabs that hold them in that need to be moved so that the cards pop out. Pull any and all memory out. Take one of the memory sticks and place it back into the slot. They only go one way if doesn't pop in easily one way, try the other way.

Turn on the computer and see if that fixes your issue or gives you a different result.

Make sure you unplug the power from your computer before you swap the memory. Don't worry about being electrocuted or anything, unless you're covered in metal like Mr. T there's relatively no danger at all. Just make sure you ground yourself by touching the side of the metal case with one hand. That way there is no chance of static electricity discharging.

Let me know if that works by rating my solution. If it doesn't we'll try something else.

Best of luck!

:)

The ticking sounds like it could be your hard drive failed. The computer is not making any beeps or anything? just the ticking? If the pc is under warranty I would definetly handle it that way. If this is not the answer you are looking for please disregard.
Good luck,
Lee
