No Picture on my nec VT676 model

I use this projector as a projector for my SmartBoard and when i press the power on button, the power light goes green, then the status button goes green, then it blinks 6 times red 6 times in the status, then power light then goes constant orange and we here three beeps, will you please help me with the problem.

Our problem is similar except the status and power lights alternate four times, then the power light alone, then the power/status alternate, then power only, etc. The beeps only occur once, just when the green power and status lights change to red (status) and orange (power). I tried unplugging and replugging. NEC had no record of this problem or any beep codes.

Thanks. NEC did not have a solution for us, but the solution for us was to replace the bulb. You'd think they would make that a bit more obvious!

Thanks.

Hi there

I'm shocked that NEC can't answer this guys.

The NEC's & Acer's make use of teh status lights and beeps to warn you that your lamp needs replacement.

What does a solid red status light on a NEC VT676

This could be a number of things. When I encountered this problem it was simply a burned out lamp. If you have not checked that make sure you do that first. Also there is a safety feature on the projectors that will not let you turn the projector on until the lamp cover is back in place. You may also want to ensure that the filter door is securely in place. After you have done this try to power up the projector (it will take a few seconds for the lamp to warm up.) If the projector starts up, go to the menu and clear the lamp hours. These projectors have lamp life's that will expire after a certain amount of time, irregardless of the functionality of the bulb. Hope this helps you out. :)

The projector is an NEC model VT590 and is connected to my computer for use with a SMARTBoard. In the bottom left hand corner a pink colour is starting to grow inwards. In the upper left hand corner, there...

It is not the smartboard, lamp or the computer as well know, it's the projector itself. This may not work but you at least need to try press the auto adjust button on the projector and then adjust the clock/phase in the menu. If not you will need to send in to NEC it could by the color wheel. Usually they have a warranty for a couple of years.

Power light is steady orange and lamp light is red but there is a new bulb in it. NEC VT676

If the unit will not power up it sounds like you may have tripped the lamp timer. You will need the remote plug the unit in and hold down the menu button on the remote for 10 seconds. The red light should go off and the unit should fire up.
Thanks Projector Guy
