Computer powers on but screen goes off unexplainably while power still on.

power symptom = rough idle, unexplained and abnormal loud engine, and power lose.

Can you try the screen in another computer? I beleave the screen goes into power saveing mode when there is no input signal, thats what both my screens do.

The power supply caps need replace on power supply, or replace power supply.

THere is problem in your video card ore check all cables carefully that they are connected

try the usb cable to your. this is the recommended method to charge a tomtom when it wont power on. for reasons unexplained by tomtom they do not recommend the car or house charges.

plug it in via the usb cable to your computer for a few hours(make sure the green light is on and nice and bright) then press and hold the power button(this could take up to 20 seconds)

you need to replace the power supply. The fan sound is the fan for the power supply and not the computer. for cheap parts or used goto headgap's. They know what you need and probably even help you replace it yourself.

Reset your bios settings to "Bios defaults", then disable power management.

I assume that what you are experiencing is what's known as "Power management" . In order to achieve an "Energy Star" rating, the computer must shut off various components to conserve power. you have bad capacitors in the power board inside the monitor replace these and the monitor will work fine

Looks like your Power Supply has gone Kaput .. Usually it is the Electrolytic Capacitors on the Power Supply Board, try a new one, or replace ALL the Electros with same or better ones.
