Anything I shouldn't put it next to? Do they work better near a window? Can I tape it to the wall and still get good signal?

I believe you are asking about your antenna wire you can tape it anywhere you like move the wire around the room and find the best reception then tack it there and walk away if it is still receiving a good signal then make it permanent, your body will work with the antenna, this is why u need to tack it up and step back before picking your permanent spot.I hope this helps goodluck.

Manual for SkyScan atomic clock -model 86742 I need to know how to change the clock to eastern time.

Hello

The SkyScan ATOMIC Clock

With the Skyscan Atomic Clock, you have the most accurate timepiece within the continent. It can receive the time signal transmitted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which is regulated by 3 atomic clocks and deviates less than 1 second within 3,000 years. The NIST broadcasts the time signal (WWVB, 60kHz) continuously from Fort Collins, Colorado. This signal can be received anywhere in the continental USA that long wave (AM) radio reception is possible with a portable radio. It is expected that the signal can cover a distance of over 2,000 miles from the transmitter. Therefore, your clock will receive the signal within the broadcast range anywhere an AM signal can be received; generally the signal cannot be picked up in massive metal and concrete structures unless near a window. In addition, some environmental effects (see next page) may affect the transmitting distance.

Can no longer pick up router signal

Does the wireless light still lit on the router? You can try changing the channel on the router (1 6 or 11) ans moving the antenna. If those things did not work upgrade the firmware of the router and reset to factory default. Do not forget to save the configuration file before you reset to factory default.

The range of your Wi-Fi network will depend on the layout of your house. In an ideal environment, such as the wide-open expanse of a parking lot, a Wi-Fi network's theoretical range can exceed 500 feet. Inside the typical home, however, expect anywhere from 75 to 150 feet, depending on the layout and the amount and density of obstacles. In our repeater-equipped setup, we were able to achieve close to 100 percent signal strength in a distant corner of the house where the signal had been either very weak or nonexistent. We tested the signal strength using Buffalo's included AirStation Client Manager software, which we installed on our notebook. The handy applet, which takes control of your notebook's Wi-Fi radio, displays such pertinent information as the name of your network, its IP and MAC addresses, and, of course, the signal strength. If necessary, you can extend your signal strength even further by adding repeaters. The WDS protocol allows you to link six repeaters to a central router. Just keep in mind that each time you add a device, you cut your maximum bandwidth in half. An extended 802.11g network consisting of a router and a repeater will have a maximum speed of 27Mbps, for instance. The same Wi-Fi network with a router and two repeaters will top out at 13.5Mbps.
