My HP printer is printing out an extra page with each print job. The extra page contains information...almost like a status report...it contains information such as filename, directory, template, title subject author....etc How do I stop that from printing

Status TheStatusfolder contains links to the following main pages.

• Device Status. This page indicates product conditions such as a jam or an empty tray. After you correct a problem, clickRefresh statusto update the product status.
  
• Supplies Status. View details such as the estimated percent of toner remaining in the print cartridge and the number of pages that have been printed with the current print cartridges. This page also has links for ordering supplies and for finding recycling information.
  
• Device Configuration. View a detailed description of the current product configuration, including the amount of memory installed and whether optional trays are installed.
  
• Network Summary. View a detailed description of the current network configuration, including the IP address and network status.
  
• Print Info Pages. Print the Configuration page and other information pages, such as the Supplies status page.
  

Define the number of pages to be printed when the printer is selected.

The low ink could definitely be the problem thats prompting the error. To begin troubleshooting print the supply status page and confirm the state of the various supplies. Follow the steps below:
Supplies Status page The Supplies Status page lists the remaining life of the HP print cartridges and the HP imaging drums. It also lists the estimated pages remaining, number of pages printed, and other supplies information. You can print a Supplies Status page from the device or the HP Toolbox. To print from the device, complete the following steps. 1. On the control panel menu, press MENU. 2. Use the button to select Reports, and then press ENTER 3. Use the button to select Supplies Status, and then press ENTER. Note Supplies information is also available through the HP Toolbox.
This page illustrates conditions of consumables for Toner Cartridges, Image Drums, Image Transfer Kits, and Fuser Kits. It also provides ordering information and methods for disposing of or recycling used supplies.

Areas of Supply Status Page: 1. Print-cartridge area. This area contains a section for each of the print cartridges and provides information about HP print cartridges. This information includes the part number for each print cartridge, whether each print cartridge is low, and the life remaining for each print cartridge expressed as a percentage, as a graphic, and as the estimated number of pages remaining. This information might not be provided for non- HP supplies. In some cases, if a non-HP supply is installed, an alert message appears instead. 2. Imaging-drum area. This area contains the same information for the imaging drum that the print-cartridge area provides for the print cartridges. 3. Warranty Note. This section contains information about how the device warranty is affected when you use non-HP supplies. It also requests that you call the HP fraud hotline if a supply that is being detected as a non-HP supply was sold to you as a genuine HP supply. (See HP fraud hotline.) 4. Ordering Information. This section contains basic information about how to order new HP supplies. See Checking status and ordering supplies. 5. Recycling Information. The Print Diagnostic Utility diagnoses and resolves common printing problems and communication problems, including:

• Connectivity :
  • USB: Ensures that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
  • Network: Ensures that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly. If the tool detects a network connectivity problem, you will be prompted to run the HP Network Diagnostic Utility for better results.
• Spooler : Automatically restarts the print spooler, which sends print jobs from the computer to the product, if it has been stopped.
• Online status : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
• Device manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
• Print queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
• Port : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
• Driver : Checks for alternate-driver settings.
• Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
• Default printer : Checks the default printer setting and prompts to select the HP product as default (optional).

Configuration page
The configuration page lists current settings and contains a status log report.

To print the configuration page from the printer, press GO for 5 seconds, until the yellow light comes on, when the printer is in the ready state.
NOTE Make sure that you hold the GO button for less than 10 seconds.

To print a report:

1. Press the [Menu] button on the Control Panel, until Reports is displayed on the top line of the Display Screen. The Phone Book menu item will be displayed on the bottom line.
   
   
   
   
2. Press the right or left arrow button to scroll until the report or list you want to print is displayed on the bottom line.
   • Phone Book: Phonebook list
   • Sent Report: Sent fax report
   • RCV Report: Received fax report
   • System Data: System data list
   • Scheduled Jobs: Scheduled job information
   • MSG Confirm: Message confirmation
   • Junk Fax List: Junk fax number list
3. Press [Enter] to print the selected information.

Your machine can print reports containing useful information. The following reports are available:

• Phonebook List: This list shows all of the numbers currently stored in the machine's memory as Speed Dial and Group Dial numbers. You can print this phonebook list using the [Phonebook] button.
• Sent Fax Repor: This report shows information of the faxes you recently sent.
• Received Fax Report: This report shows information of the faxes you recently received.
• System Data List: This list shows the status of the user-selectable options. You may print this list to confirm your changes after changing any settings.
• Scheduled Job Information: This list shows the document currently stored for Delayed faxes or Toll Save faxes. The list shows the starting time and type of operation.
• Message Confirmation: This report shows the fax number, the number of pages, the elapsed time of the job, the communication mode, and the communication results. You can set up your machine to automatically print the message confirmation report after each fax job.
• Junk Fax Number List: This list shows up to 10 fax numbers specified as the junk fax numbers by using the Junk Fax Setup menu. When the Junk Fax Barrier feature is turned on, incoming faxes from those numbers will be blocked. This feature recognizes the last 6 digits of the fax number set as a remote fax machine’s ID.
• Multi-Communication Report: This report is printed automatically after sending documents from more than one location.
• Power Failure Report: This report is printed out automatically when power is restored after a power failure, if any data loss occurs due to the power failure.

NOTE: The lists you have set to automatically print out will not print out when there is no paper loaded or a paper jam has occurred.

If you have your software driver or print job set to save your print jobs to the printer and your printer does not support this, you will get that error and status page. Here is what the User's manual says about print job storage:
"The printer supports two distinct job-storage features that you can use to initiate printing from the printer control panel after the print job is sent from the computer:
● Proof and hold jobs
● Private jobs
Make sure that you identify your jobs in the printer driver before printing. Using default names might override previous jobs that have the same default name or cause the job to be deleted.

The job-storage features require 48 MB of RAM. For printer models that have less than 48 MB of RAM, you can add memory so that they can support the features."

Try un installing the printer then re installing it.
