You don't need to know your password for the iPad. As long as you know the password for your iTunes account, you used to setup the account on the iPad for. Connect the iPad with the computer and open iTunes and give in the password for the iTunes account. Apple will unlock the iPad and you can setup a new pass code for the iPad.
When you forgot your iTunes password, you have to contact Apple and prove you are the legal owner of the account.
Use this link to find more support for that: Apple ID Support
Hi you should have got the pass code off who ever you bought it off if they refuse to give you the code it could be stolen I'd take it to Apple shop and see what they say .
You don't need the screen to hook it up to a computer with iTunes and then you can make a full backup. Although if you never have made a backup on a computer it could ask you to enter your pass code and or account information on the iPad.
If you were saving your things in the cloud, connecting a new iPad with the same account, will retrieve everything in the cloud on your new iPad.
Just goto the Apple store and ask if they can help you with the backup if you can't retrieve you need so badly.
you need to go too the main site apple.com when the site got loaded click on suport then apple id, then click on forgotten apple id password then read the instruction. if you got a pass for the lock screen and forgot pass, then you have to restart your ipad.
