I cannot even use it to type anything. I am typing from my old computer. So do I have an option, or do I have a glorified door stop
If it is a wireless keyboard and mouse, change the batteries in the keyboard. If it is a USB keyboard, go into device manager and uninstall it. Then reboot the machine. Windows will automatically see the keyboard and reload the driver.
Check the device manager under "Human Interface Devices" and see if the keyboard has an exclamation mark on yellow ground. If so it means you need a driver.
