When i plug it in, a balloon pops up saying that the computer does not recognize this device. i've connected it before but now it just stopped recognizing my juke. any ideas?

Have you checked the drivers for the usb adapter. plug it in and go to my devises and up date driver see if that fixed it. vista software may have a problem as they are not updating there software files. but win7 is fine has same filing as xp.
Turn off the CPU unplug the power cable and all usb cables, let it sit for about 15-20 minutes. Plug power cable back in, turn on CPU, plug in your usb devices.
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off,hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
there is a complict device driver in the device manager. .. configure device manager and remove an auknown device driver especially the usb device and restart the computer
