Try hitting Function F-7. the click on the appropriate application. it worked for me
No way to set settings - screen blank- no boot up at all
Did you check the energy saving settings for the monitor
The display settings in control panel should have a tab
for screen saver that also has settings for the monitor
power saver setting. If there is a setting for Digital Power Saving mode adjust it or disable it.
If this does not solve the problem then you may have to
disable APM in the bios setup
If you have another monitor you could hook that
up and see what the energy settings are.
ACPI is the power management contol
try disableing it
ACPI is the power management control
try disabling it

This is most likely not a problem with the monitor but rather a problem with the computer. do you hear the fans running in the computer? If so then the Power Supply seems to be working which would leave the most likely things are CPU or motherboard and the only way to determine which one it is would be to try the CPU on a different motherboard or try a different CPU in that motherboard.
If the fans do not run then the problem is most likely the Power Supply. The biggest problem here is that although what I have outlined is the most likely problems there are other things that could cause this and whether the fans are running or not it could still be the CPU motherboard or Power Supply. If you can I would check the voltages from the Power Supply or at least get a power supply tester to see what that shows and work from there.
To access the BIOS you would generally need to push del, F1, or F10 when the computer first displays anything on the monitor after you turn it on. You should then get a menu with options like Standard CMOS, advanced settings, Integrated Perpherals, Power management, and a few other options. APM settings should be under the Power Management selection and the first or second selection should have the option to disable APM.

Well the fans are running and when I pull out the power suplly and after 1-2 min plug it back in monitor works fine, but evry time I shut down the computer the problem comes back
My monitor blacks out after powered on awhile, but if I tap on it , the display lights up.
Alsotry disconnection power and the most reaction I get is that it is in digital fine mode and then the wretched power saving comes on and black screen. Surely there is something wrong with the lg flatiron wide screen monitor - surely we can get out money back?
Well I've tried this with enrgy saving settings and I've put everything to never and it didn't fix the problem
I also tried to disable APM in bios setup but I didn't find it?? My computer is running on Microsoft Windows Vista and when i enter bios befor it strats i only have a list of 6-7 items and i can't find this APM, can somebody describe how to do it please
