How to connect dvd to tv.

Good day!!!!

Please try this procedure on how to connect your DVD player to your TV..

Follow this instructions:

1. Check the back of your DVD player. It will have up to three different types of outlet connections enabling it to be linked to the TV. The most ideal is an HDMI connection, which is a thin rectangular outlet marked "HDMI." It provides the highest quality signal to your flat panel TV. If your DVD player doesn't have an HDMI outlet, you can also use a standard RCA outlet. This consists of three round cable jacks labeled with a color coding. The yellow jack is for the video signal while the red and white jacks are for audio signals. Some DVD players may have an S-video outlet as well. It will be a circular jack with a number of holes. While not as effective as the HDMI jack, it provides a clearer picture than the RCA cables.

  • 2. Look at the back of your flat panel TV for a series of "In" jacks corresponding to your DVD player. There may be a number of them under different labels (Input 1, Input 2, HDMI 1, HDMI 2 and Component Video are common). All of them work, however, and all can carry the DVD signal into your TV. Simply select an "In" jack that matches the DVD outlet you have selected and note the precise label.
  • 3. Connect the "In" jack from the TV to the corresponding outlet on the DVD player, using the proper cable (RCA, HDMI or S-Video).
  • 4. Turn on the TV and press the input button to select the jack connected to the DVD player. (The exact label for the input button will vary by model. Some will say "Input," while others will say "TV/Video" or "Signal.") A menu should pop up onscreen giving you a list of jacks in the rear of the set. Select the jack connected to the DVD player. The name of the player brand should appear on your screen.
  • 5. Place a DVD in the player and watch as normal.

  • I hope this procedure will be helpful...Thanks for using fixya..

I am connecting a RCA DVD player (DRC277B) to my TV and have problems when using the HDMI cable. When I connect the unit using the AV Cable, things work OK. I then turned off everything and hooked...

    Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Two things that will cause the “No Signal” message to come up are - no data available for closed captioning and a weak signal input. Your TV is in the Closed Captioning Mode. To turn it off simply bring up the on screen menu and scroll down to the part that says closed captioning and turn this function off! With the closed captioning block displayed and the program being viewed is not sending out closed captioning signals the TV will display, No signal!

If this doesn’t resolve your issue then the problem may be with the processor failing and it is causing a random read of the EPROM to display the not available message. I’ll suggest you to run the HDMI from the PVR (personal video recorder) directly to the TV (mute the TV), and then run the optical audio from the PVR directly into the receiver's optical in. The closed captioning is something that is addressed in analog broadcasts, but not necessarily digital broadcasts

Try using Component cables if this doesn’t make a difference. After using components cables the issue will be resolved. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks
    Rylee

    Sharp Aquos 46" HDMI problem

I have a similar problem. The Sharp TV aquos appears to be shutting down my blue ray player and dvd recorder when connected via HDMI. They work fine and never close down when I connect them via the rca cables either single video connection or a composite 3 cable rca lead. I have 3 HDMI inputs on the tv and the problem occurs on all 3. Any suggestions?

    RCA DVD player model DRC285

try sticking a knife on the top of the dvd slot. don't put a lot of pressure to break it though. turn the dvd player on, and it may open. If this solves the issue, try not to put items on top of the dvd player because it will cause it to stick and not open.
