My pretty pink samsung digimax S630 will turn on but as soon as I try to take a picture it just shuts down and the lens is left sticking out. Help what could be wrong?!
Same problem. Usualy a new set of batteries works for a short while, but then the camera dies.Same problem. Usualy a new set of batteries works for a short while, but then the camera dies.

your carera is set on shutter priority,,,
change it to auto
what its telling you is,, its set at a lens opening of F2.8 ( thats wide open ,,,so little or no depth of field in photos) ,(and a shutter speed of 1.45 of a second?) witch means its realy dark were you are??
the little eye flashing tells you to use the flash,,,
i bet you have left it set on flash photos only?
switch it over to auto mode and out of flash mode!
I dropped the camera on the table a couple of times, twisted the front of it. Suddenly the lens retracted into the camera, the beeping quit, and now I can take pictures again. The Samsung website is horrible.
my camera will not turn on or off lense stuck open put new batteries still nothing my daughter took picture with it everything went blank its the samsung s630 worked fine till today!!
My Samsung S500 kept shutting down (with lens extended but no beeping) as soon as it was turned on. After reading similar problems being caused by a jammed lens mechanism, I GENTLY twisted & tugged the extended lens mechanism (no crude comments please), and it worked the next time it was turned on.
get a butter knife or any thin object like that
and use it to push out the lens and turning it on at the same time
you will hear a clicking noise which is normal
once completely out, use your hand with a gentle but firm presure move it form left to right
and then hopefully it should work after that
