Are you sure it is the drain pan overflowing? If water is appearing on the floor every few days, it may not be getting to the drain pan (evaporator tray), due to a blocked drain channel. The evaporator tray will normally cope with the daily amount of de iced water of a frost free fridge/freezer.

DRAIN PAN FULL OF WATER AND OVERFLOWING ONTO FLOOR

Hi,

What kind of unit do you have? Its possible depending on the manufacture that a water line is the cause as it drips water into the pan causes the overflowing of the drain pan. Look for cracks in all the water line under the unit and you may have to remove the back and the water valve to see it. Good luck

Why is my drain pain overflowing?

on most fridges, you should be able to empty drain pan. Remove grill on bottom at the floor, and see if pan will slide out. Good-Day!

Refrigerator overflowing water

If the drain pan is overflowing, they are made to catch drips. But if you overfill the glasses a few times a day the pan will overflow because there is no drain for the pan. You have to soak it up with a sponge if this is the case. If its leaking then there is a solenoid in the back of the refrigerator that is sticking, if so remove the solenoid valve wire connectors, the water lines and the solenoid valve water control valve and replace. Local appliance dealer should have one for about $60.00 or so. They make a universal solenoid water valve that fits most refrigerators. Good luck I hope this solves your problem. Most Viking models have overflow safety feature that turns the dishwasher into drain mode. The idea is to remove overflow water from the bottom pan. Check the pan behind kick toe panel for water, remove the water and check for leaks. If no water check overflow switch somewhere in the pan, it maybe stuck. Good luck

Drain Pan overflowing and water is leaking in refrigerator I can see drip pan overflowing but I do not know how to get to it

remove the back panel inside the freezer, then defrost the pan, then take a length of stiff wire and clear out the drain line from there down to the pan in the lower area near the compressor,as theres probably lime, mold growth build up in the drain line plugging the hose restricting draining of defrost water

Hi dear.If you are handy enough, that's what you can check to make a solution for yourself.Goodluck.
Check all hoses, connections and threaded unions for leaks.
Note:
If the leak source has not yet been detected, check the following areas
in the toekick and the drip pan for wear and tear:
Connection between the circulation pump and the sump
Axial face seal of the circulation pump
Connection between the drain pump and the sump
Connection between the salt container and the water intake
Connection between the water intake and the cabinet side wall
 Overflow (e.g., excess foam formation)
Water level between the overflows ( seating of the lower door seal?)
Connection between the cabinet and the salt container
Non-return valve in the sump ( water running back from the drain hose?)
3. Check overflow float switch B8/3 for continuity and correct operation.
4. Carefully dry all electrical components in the drip pan area.
Cause:
Float switch defective.
Remedy:
Replace overflow float switch B8/3.
I hope that helps.Thanks.

Drain pan over flowing

The rubber seal on the water filter is bad . Replace the filter in the bottom kick plate . When the filter goes bad , water will drip into the drain pan , causing it to overflow .

Whirlpool side by side defrost drain pan overflowing

Maybe your machine has a leaky door, letting moist air inside. Make sure your compressor area is lint free. The heat from the compressor is supposed to evaporate that water. Make sure the pan is exactly in the right place, level, not cracked.

Water overflowing of defrost water pan

sounds like you have a clogged defrost drain tube. removing back panel of freezer will give you acess to drain trough, melt away the ice with a hair dryer, youll find a drain hole under there somwhere, pouring boiling water down the drain will clear it pretty quickly( i use a steam machine purchased from the infomercials works awesome, after you clear it and all water drain down tube wrap a piece of solid copper wirearound the heater( black calrod heater right above the drain trough) and stick it in the whole maybe an inch or so. now everythime the heater comes on to defrost it will prevent the hole from freezing over
