Question about HP Compaq Evo n610c Notebook
I bought my laptop, second hand; private party at least. It was working fine the first couple of months and was a dream, but then just a couple of weeks ago the whole thing started acting up. First, the battery wouldn't charge. Of if it was charging, it was because the adapter which plugs into the back of the computer was position in a certain position. It wouldn't just rest there, it had to be held up.
I thought nothing of it, till about yesterday. It wouldn't charge, at all, the light wouldn't show up and whenever I would plug in the adapter the computer would make a slight humming now, right at the plug before completely shutting down. It wouldn't even run off the fully charged battery. Anyone have any idea..?
I took the AC adapter to radio shack, and it's getting the right amount of volts, so it has to be my computer..
If you had the adapter checked out, then it has to be the power input to the motherboard (where you plug the adapter in). I have one of these laptop's as well, but my problem is that the battery is completely drained and won't change. Never the less, you might be able to find a replacement motherboard from ebay for fairly cheap.
