When i switch on, the red light for power comes on for a few seconds then goes off, it doesn't even reach the point of the TV turning on. The technician says the motherboard is not supplying power. what do i need to make this work and where can i get the part from? Thanks

Can you here the HV? I think yes and if so check the Proscan PCB. It's not supplying vertical pulse, or one crt has leaked and the G2 voltage is in short on the crt pcb.
I fixed thousands of Samsung PRTv and never I found the power supply defective.

It sounds that there is some loose contact with any of the IC heatsinks inside the circuit board. Your TV need a through checkup. It is really a skilled work to do with Plasma displays, as they adopts the latest technology. Even an experienced service tech: too will feel a little bit difficult to reach the exact fault point. power light keeps flashing and the tv won't turn on. If you unplug for a

generally when you get a constant green light all is ok. these different lights indicate different problems within the tv. so the pattern of lights you mention suggests there is a fault of some kind (is there a troubleshooting section in your manual)? either way it needs to be looked at.
