Terrible odor from bottom front of fridge

I have a maytag fridge (not sure how old it is as it was here when I purchased the house 6 years ago). There is a bad odour (like sour milk/bad cheese) coming from the bottom front everytime the fridge 'kicks on'. I'm not sure if it's a fan.
About 2 weeks ago, there was a broken bag of milk lying on my bottom shelf (above the crispers). Although I cleaned it up, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the smell. In other words, I'm not sure if the milk ran down the inside of the fridge into a place I've never cleaned before. Could you tell me how to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks.

The milk probably is gone, but there may be something in your coils. Inspect from front at the bottom, behind toe kick trim or from the back by removeing the access panel on the lower back of the frig. Coil cleaning should be done with the frig unplugged, vacuum out the dust and with a small brush resembling a bottle brush but smaller. clean between the coils. Don't force the brush. Twisting with light pressure will work just fine.

I have a Maytag bottom freezer refrigerator w/automatic ice maker. The ice has terrible odor and taste. I do not have owner's manual and cannot locate a filter. i believe the fridge is about 3 years...

Hello,

Searching the parts breakdown for your model number i do not see a listing for a water filter so i suppose it doesn't have a built in one. If it did have one it would be on the right hand corner of the ceiling of the fresh food compartment.
This link is for a pdf version of the owners manual https://www.maytag.com/digitalassets/MLPDF/User%20Instructions%20-%20W10208789A.pdf

My 2 month old Amana Refridgerator with Freezer on

If your sure about spoiled food. Spoiled lemons are one of the worst, and the machine has not been abused, it's a problem of the selling dealer. Fan motors have been known to create an odor when their windings start to burn. Plastic items that become detached from the interior cabinet and wind up laying on the defrost heater which gets very hot during defrost is another, however, I would demand a service call (free) since everything on it is under warranty. Make sure it's creating the odor when the tech shows up.

Fridge running hot!

One you can to try and extend the life of the fridge is to vacuum off the compressor and coils. They can be located either behind the toe grill on the bottom front or through an opening on the back of the fridge. It is natural for a fridge to blow warm air.

Foul odor from back area of fridge/Kenmore bottom freezer

I had the same problem, but just fixed it. I have a maytag bottom freezer and when the fan blower comes on, there was a foul/stale smell that permeated the kitchen. There is no drip pan that I could remove to clean.

I just removed four screws from the back cover of the fan blower area, reached in with a small cup of organic odor remover and poured it into the drip pan just under the fan blower.

Any odor remover would work. probably vinegar or enzyme odor remover would work, too.

I now have fresh smell when the fan blower comes on.

Freezer has bad smell, cleaned entire fridge and freezer out, no help. working fine but smells ?? side by side model about 5 years old, maytag

For odors in the refrigerator/freezer try baking soda or, for tougher odors, try Fridge Aid deodorizer, also available in the accessories section of our website. on  www.repairclinic.com

My crock pot has a terrible odor

This crock pot is too old to use anymore and may be dangerous to plug in to an electrical plug. If I were you I would get a new one that has a removable insert that can be cleaned easily. That would be a safe thing to buy yourself.
I have one they work great.
