AJ driver is correct. You will need an amp to test out the speakers and make sure that they are functional. I would reccomend looking at local pawn shops for a cheaper, used amp -- this way you don't have to spend too much money. Also, look the speakers up online and make sure that you buy the proper speaker cables for them to assure the best clarity.

Hopefully this helps you solve your problem.

Hi there, do you have an amplifier to hook it upto mate? if you do its best to go into your local halfords etc and ask for a wiring kit for you car audio, or search on ebay, theyre normally around 20pounds. then it will come with instructions on where certain wires go etc, the 8 outputs are probably so you can connect two subs together. they should have a pos and neg on them somewhere. if you dont have an amp you probably need to buy one. if you have any further queries just ask mate

No sound from sub

simply give it a 2 wire signal and you should hear something! if not then depress the cone lightly back and forth, if you hear alot of scratching/scraping sounds, prognosis in not good.

JL 1000/1 turns off

Does the amp have a volt meter on it? That tends to be pretty helpful in determining if it has enough power. I had to run an 8 gauge wire from my battery to the amp to get enough current to power an audiobahn 6 channel 6601t, with a dual voice-coil audiobahn 12 inch eternal. In the summer mine hits a thermal protection unitl I roll down the windows and ventilate the car, but that does not sound like thermal to me. It could also be the wrong impedance for your amp/sub combo. If you are making these speakers distort, you should be deaf by now. a 1000 watt amp is no force to be reckoned with. Your sub is 1.5 to 4 ohms. I posted a link to where you can check if it is wired properly. If these are distorting, it sounds like you have these wired for the wrong impedance. There is no way you should be making this setup distort at all without blowing out windows. It could be that you need 2 batteries, or if you are a pro DIYer Get some A123 batteries from a dewalt product. They have insane discharge. But I would recommend just getting a new battery (see bottom link), and making sure you have a 4-8 gauge wire going to the amp. I know a lot about batteries, as I built my own EV, so tell me how you have these subs wired, and how you have the amp wired to the battery.

Best way to wire the audiobahn eternal

Well, from what I can find, the best you could do is 2 ohm stable. This is only if you have a decent 2 ohm stable amplifier. In order to wire it to 2 ohms you will need to take the positives and hook them together and run one wire to the brigde positive of the amplifier. Then take the negatives and hook them together and run one wire to the bridge negative of the amplifier. Make sure you have a good enough amplifier to run this sub also. I would definately use a mono block amp that is 2 ohm stable and at least 1000 watts. I'm not sure if you have the 10",12", or 15" but 1000 should do it. There is one key that many people miss.......it is just as bad to underpower subs as it is to overpower them. And make sure you get a quality amplifier....if it is a brand new 1000 watt amp and it is under a hundred dollars you are not getting a good amplifier. Amps that I would recommend getting are gently used high end amplifiers, namely Memphis. I'm sorry I've rambled enough, but if you need anymore help just let me know. Good luck

Audiobahn 12' subs and audiobahn amp

First thing is first. What subs do you have? Audiobahn makes several kinds of 12" subs. What model sub do you have?
Without knowing this, it would be hard to recomend an amp without knowing how much power your sub can handle. Audiobahn makes from very power amps that can put out up to 5000W RMS, but if your sub can not handle that power, then you will blow your sub.
