Have you checked that all buttons when pressed come in and out easily?
Sometimes the little spindles that press the contacts inside the watch do not come out completely and remain "pressed" even if the button appears to be "out"
Clean the watch, with particular attention to the buttons area so they can move easily in and out. If this does not do the trick, open the watch with great care not to damage the threads on the plastic case and visiually inspect if the buttons travel easily in and out and that all springs if fitted are sound. Remove and replace the batteries with new ones (DO NOT use bargain batteries from that "auction site")
and reset the watch.Try again, if ok carefully clean the back seal apply a little vaseline to the top of the seal and close the case. DO NOT over tighten the screws as this will damage the plastic thread and the watch will not seal properly and will be likely to flood with moisture. Good luck
I've had the same problem with another Casio watch and in my case I didn't place the inner parts of the watch exactly right. This must be done very precisely, otherwise one or more button functions don't work. Maybe it is worth a try to check the alignment of the inner parts of the watch.
Your watch is solar powered, so I think it isn't charged lately. At a low charge, the watch goes into saving mode by switching off the display (while keeping the time, date, etc.). To charge the watch leave it in a brightly lit spot for a day or two. That should be enough to make the watch function as normal again.
probably one of the buttons of your watch is stuck that's why you cannot use the other buttons of your watch. it has to be opened and check for it, mostly of the button that are stucked with this kind of watch is the illuminator or the light located at the lower middle of your watch. i hope i had helped you.
so here is the fix if you get op en display on your casio pathfinder or whatever model. mine happens to be a paw 1200t 1. you gotta break it open 2 pins each side band comes off. 2. pry off the side pieces. this exposes 4 screws. 3. the base then comes off be careful of the gasket. 4. once inside. notice a round circular object on the base and a small oval shiny gold copper piece. 5. For whatever reason the shiny copper piece has shifted and does not make contact with the tiny little springs there are 2 if you shift the base to make contact with the gold piece the op en goes away and watch is back to normal. 6. the fix is move this little piece back to where it belongs. i got lucky and the glue still held when i firmly moved it to its original location. super glue came to mind if it wont stay where it belongs.
7. gasket orientation and cleaning out the gasket channel is a given i used welding tip cleaners to do the intricate work. under the bands are very grungy. mine is about 5-6 years old. reassemble the way it came out.
if your battery is good and you get this op en look to your display for whatever reason this worked for me and if casio uses this as a warranty or warning of water coming in your watch it was a STUPID DUMB IDEA. those springs should be solid state and the watch is useless until it is fixed no light, no baro, no alt, no comp. notta and no buttons work. there is no reason whatsoever that this shiny copper thing shifts but it happened to me and my watch is working and my battery has had H or full power since day one.
This also drove me crazy. But I figured it out: 1. Hold the top left button down until "LIGHT" appears at the top; now you are in the setting more. you can turn the light function on or off by pressing either of the right hand buttons. 2. Then, just keep pressing the bottom left button to toggle through each of the settings (date, hour, minutes, etc.); and use the same right hand buttons to set them as needed. 3. When you're done, press the top left button again to complete your settings.
The Mode button on the bottom left hand side will set your "SET" buttons to work.
The first push of your Mode button will activate your Stop Watch. Press the top right button to time your subject. Press it again to stop timing your subject.
Pressing the bottom right button will reset your Stop Watch to zero.
Press the Mode button to release your Stop Watch function and return to the Telling Time function.
Press the Mode button twice and you'll be able to set your Alarm function. Your Hour number will be flashing. Press the top right button to set your Alarm Hour. If you Alarm Hour is for the afternoon or evening continue pushing until a "P" appears by your hour number . This will be your afternoon/evening hour. If there is no "P" that, of course, will be your morning hour.
Press the bottom right button to adjust the minute number of your Alarm function. Your minute number will be flashing. Again, using the top right button, you'll be able to adjust your minute number.
(If you hold any number changing button for a long time, the numbers will flash through rapidly.)
Press the mode button to release your Alarm setting function.
Press the Mode button three times to set the Time of Day on your watch. At this point you'll also need to push the bottom left button to activate your Time of Day function. after pressing the bottom right button your minute number will start flashing. Press the top right button again to adjust your minute number. Once that's done, press the mode button to release your time of day function.
A- Top right
B- Bottom right
C- Bottom left
D- Top left
Press C button until you get to the time screen. When the time screen appears press and hold down the D button. The light on screen appears, Press C and the chime on screen appears, Press C again and you can start setting the time using the A and B button. When finished press the D button.
